Traditional Eat-in Kitchen with Black Splashback Design Ideas

Design ideas for a large traditional l-shaped eat-in kitchen in Surrey with shaker cabinets, light wood cabinets, granite benchtops, black splashback, stainless steel appliances, limestone floors and with island.

Base cabinets contrast perfectly in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe with the oak worktops and shelving- all attached to slate wall tiles that marry perfectly with the limestone flooring. The Farrow & Ball Chappell Green on the wall cabinets is illuminated by the LED strip light. A cream Rayburn with tray space to the right provides warmth for Toffee the dog.

This kitchen was commissioned by a very well-known interior designer, based in central London, for her own home. She was very keen to have a kitchen inspired by Biedermeier furniture. Biedermeier was an influential style of furniture design from Germany in the early 1800s, based on utilitarian principles. It came to describe a simpler interpretation of the French Empire style of Napoleon I: with clean lines and a simple, elegant look. With this brief, a bespoke kitchen was made from maple with birds eye maple panelling and ebonised black detailing. Black granite work surfaces and black appliances all combine to create an extremely elegant kitchen with a neoclassical and sophisticated look. The design and placing of the cabinets and sink, the central island and the kitchen table all mean that this is a hugely practical kitchen, able to cater for and accommodate a large number of guests. The kitchen comprised of wooden doors with a raised centre panel detail. The doors were made from Maple wood which has a tight grain that creates a smooth finish when painted. The appliance were a mix of Smeg, Elica, Leibherr and Perrin & Rowe taps. The granite was Angolan Black

A classic farmhouse kitchen with warm tumbled stone flooring. An AGA range cooker with exposed flu add to the rustic function over form styling. Our customer was keen to not have any wall units to increase light and maintain a sense of space. As a result, clever storage solutions were required such as a worktop standing bi-fold dresser, a larder in the original fireplace/hearth aperture, a free standing dresser with full stave lacquered oak worktop and a free standing american fridge freezer framed either side with larder towers.

Part of our Manor House range, this handmade kitchen features a traditional raised panel door style finished in a colour match to Farrow and Ball House White with cracked porcelain & bronze handles. A Falcon induction range cooker and Westin extractor stand as a main focal point with top range Miele appliances complimenting. Sinks are Ribchesters from Shaws of Darwen and taps are 24ct gold plated from Perrin & Rowe special finish selection. The counter tops are Strata Premium Black with waterfall edge profile.
