Nestled in Drayton, Abingdon, our latest kitchen showcases the seamless fusion of functionality and aesthetics. The bespoke Hepworth and Wood furniture takes centre stage, with the double-bevel Bramham door design adding immediate interest to the space. The choice of Benjamin Moore Scuff-X paint, expertly mixed to the client's preference, adds a truly personal touch. An Artscut worktop, though now a discontinued shade, is testament to the commitment to exceptional design that goes beyond the ordinary. In this kitchen, every fixture tells a story. The Quooker and Perrin & Rowe taps harmonise seamlessly. An Aga, thoughtfully provided by the client, brings a touch of culinary tradition to the space, while the Falmec hood, Caple wine cooler and Liebherr fridge and freezer complete the ensemble. Navigating the intricacies of the client's brief, we set out to craft a space that offers grandeur yet exudes the warmth of a family home. The result is a perfect sanctuary for the couple and their grown-up children, allowing them to gather, celebrate, and create cherished memories. With a nod to the former space's history, this kitchen is more than just a room; it champions great design and its ability to transform spaces and enrich lives. Looking for more inspiration? The long and welcoming room is flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows. The client wanted an understated kitchen designed using natural materials, sustainably sourced, that would wear with age and settle over time. They did not want a kitchen that felt like a modern insertion and yet it had to suit the needs of a contemporary family. The work surfaces are all native hardwood at the client’s request, but well-sealed and protected. We also designed a sacrificial frame around the sink which can be replaced if the wood becomes damaged over time. The trench heater under the island is designed to deliver the right heat output for the room which has limited wall space.

A traditional Shaker kitchen with a large central island and a wonderful breakfast area featuring a banquette seat. The island functions both as a prep area but also has space for bar stools, perfect for entertaining or for quick meals with the family. We also included a wooden towel rail to the side of the island, perfect for hanging tea towels. We love how the garden views unfold from every angle in the room, resulting in a kitchen filled with natural light.

effusive combination of colours and textures to create a characterful rustic kitchen, but with a distinctly up-to-date feel. With the family dining table taking centre stage, and recessed plinth units lining the walls, the end result is a sumptuously sprawling space that effortlessly combines modern conveniences with classic design. The bluey grey adds drama and depth, whilst the warming beige lifts the room and maximises light. We added Granite ‘Ivory Wave’ worktops for a mottled finish, with Britinannium knobs and cup handles. The pewter alloy gives a smooth, clean finish to the kitchen without dispersing too much of its rural radiance. https://www.hillfarmfurniture.co.uk/rural-radiance/ Photo: Chris Ashwin
