Traditional Grey Eat-in Kitchen with Limestone Floors Design Ideas

This kitchen / dining area presents a soft furniture in terms of shapes and colours; the shaker style cabinets, the upholstered bench and the floor are in very soft and light range of beige, put in evidence the warm wood of the table and standing bench.

A bespoke, handmade Shaker style kitchen with ‘in-frame’ mortice and tennon doors fitted on traditional butt hinges. This luxurious kitchen features Oak dovetailed and polished drawer boxes on soft-close concealed runners and a solid rigid carcass in polished Oak, except for the pantry unit that is in rich Walnut. The island units and Utility room have been factory painted in Library by Plimsoll and all other units are factory painted in Bone China Blue (Pale) from Little Greene Paint & Paper. All pull handles and knobs are in an Old Pewter finish, to co-ordinate with the Bosch appliances, whilst the brassware is by Quooker and Hans Grohe. Full height cabinetry maximises storage whilst beautiful curved features enliven the design. Fridge/freezer framed by larder cupboards for easy storage of all food items.

This dark green kitchen shows how Tom Howley can create a kitchen where everything has a place and can be easily accessed. Integrated appliances and bespoke storage minimise clutter and glass fronted cabinetry with subtle lighting provides plenty of opportunity to display both attractive essentials and pieces of art.

This large kitchen/dining room in an elegant home in Surrey has hand-painted bespoke shaker style cabinets, with polished chrome knobs and striking Cosmic Black Leathered granite worktops. The cabinets were supplied to site factory primed, and were painted on site where the paints colours were adjusted to suit the lighting conditions of the room. A light, bright open plan kitchen with ample space to dine, cook and store everything that needs to be tucked away. As always, our bespoke kitchens are designed and built to suit lifestyle and family needs and this one is no exception. Plenty of island seating and really importantly, lots of room to move around it. Large cabinets and deep drawers for convenient storage plus accessible shelving for cook books and a wine fridge perfectly positioned for the cook! Look closely and you’ll see that the larder is shallow in depth. This was deliberately (and cleverly!) designed to accommodate a large beam behind the back of the cabinet, yet still allows this run of cabinets to look balanced. We’re loving the distinctive brass handles by Armac Martin against the Hardwicke White paint colour on the cabinetry - along with the Hand Silvered Antiqued mirror splashback there’s plenty of up-to-the-minute design details which ensure this classic shaker is contemporary yes classic in equal measure.

A kitchen extension can turn a pokey cooking area into a large, open-plan space the whole family can enjoy. That is exactly what Asmat and Ramesh did with their beautiful Maidenhead home. The couple decided that Shaker cabinets were the clear choice due to offering a timeless, versatile appearance that suits a contemporary open kitchen. The newly extended open space has a beautiful flow to it. The wall cabinets feature a mixture of base and tall units including both a larder and pantry. These provide ample storage and are a real feature of the kitchen. A double farmhouse sink stands out well against our factory's hand-painted units which have been colour matched to Little Greene's French Grey. This neutral colour offers calmness when used in any space and suits both modern or classic styles. The kitchen island is another standout piece. Again using Little Greene's palette, it is painted in the Livid shade. A deep, moody yet restful colour, sitting somewhere between blue, green and grey. The island cabinetry contains a mixture of drawers, shelves and our fabulous glass-doored glazed cupboards with shelving. Finally, we have an eye-catching feature window seat. Also known as banquette seating, this space has been custom-built by our factory. A wooden seat with cabinetry below finished off perfectly with a stand-out wallpaper that really gives the whole open space a little colour. A stunning period property in the heart of London, the homeowners of this beautiful town house have created a stunning, boutique hotel vibe throughout, and Burlanes were commissioned to design and create a kitchen with charisma and rustic charm. Handpainted in Farrow & Ball 'Studio Green', the Burlanes Hoyden cabinetry is handmade to fit the dimensions of the room exactly, complemented perfectly with Silestone worktops in 'Iconic White'.

Our light grey Open Plan kitchen brings a traditional design into the modern age. The bespoke, hand-painted cabinetry with carefully crafted curves gives the impression of lightness. This elegant design technique combined with a soft, contemporary colour scheme, encourages the natural movement of light throughout the room. Beautiful worktops flow seamlessly in a subtle ‘U’ shape from cooking area to island providing plenty of space to prepare food. A curved breakfast table separates dining space from work space in a contemporary manner that is a signature of Tom Howley design.

This is an Inframe kitchen which is hand painted in two Little Greene colours - Slaked Lime Green Deep and French Grey Dark – both of which are an ideal match for the resilient and durable Lagoon Quartz worktop and but also a lovely contrast to the Planked Oak at the curved end of the island. Keeping it contemporary the owners chose an elegant Antiqued Mirror splashback with gold backing which helps to elevate this classic Shaker out-of-the-ordinary and adds a real touch of pzzazz! Other great choices are the gorgeous Lacanche Macon Classic Range Cooker in Mandarin - a bang-on-trend colour which adds warmth and personality as well as being a really good cooker and the large Liebherr fridge freezer in Stainless Steel. An essential for family living, and something we’re regularly asked to build, is the chalk board cupboard which has a convenient push-to-open mechanism and shelves inside. The cool limestone flooring is a great choice and keeps it practical - timely considering the owners welcomed their first child during the build!

Montpellier antiqued limestone flooring, which was supplied in widths of 400mm and 500mm, has been laid across the room in random lengths to create a feeling of expanse and seamlessly link the dining and kitchen areas. The tiles also flow seamlessly on to a large outdoor terrace, helping to ‘bring the outside in’ and encourage continuity between the spaces.

Our customer was keen to not have any wall units to increase light and maintain a sense of space. As a result, clever storage solutions were required such as a worktop standing bi-fold dresser, a larder in the original fireplace/hearth aperture, a free standing dresser with full stave lacquered oak worktop and a free standing american fridge freezer framed either side with larder towers.

This bespoke, solid wooden kitchen cabinetry is hand painted in a warm grey, complimenting the stunning marble effect quartz worktop and splashback back. Featuring a one of a kind Quooker tap, custom finished in brass specifically for our showroom to match the brass hardware. The kitchen has integrated Miele dishwasher, fridge and freezer, as well as a Miele oven grill and steam oven. The flooring is a polished tumbled limestone.
