Studio Thing
This project was two form a divider within a large traditional space for use as an office and play space
A custom designed digital form was created and routed into flat unbleached cardboard sheets using pdf files submitted to a CNC router. No formal architectural documentation was required: no drawings; no details; no dimensions. Flat pack sheets where then assembled which took around 90 minutes, with subsequent bracing being added from the residual cardboard. The “thing” was then embellished with drawings of various architectural objects and forms that fall into perspective at the entrance of the studio, creating the impression of a cosmos of objects.
