The Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage, which dates back to early Victorian times, is located in an English village, where the Australian client’s wife was raised. It sits on a substantial parcel of land and whilst historic was purchased in a derelict state with trees growing through the windows! The clients vision was to transform The Old Vicarage into a functional, beautiful family home. During construction, the façade was left intact and the interior was completely gutted and restored, along with the addition of a modern three storey extension to the back of the home featuring an abundance of glass to maximise natural light.

The home boasts 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, living room, snug, library, children’s playroom and studio over five levels and includes a large annex with a basement housing the home cinema, cellar and control rooms plus home office, second office, bathroom and kitchen.

The owners had previously worked with Keeley Green Interior Design (KGID) and entrusted them with the complete interior design and furnishing of their home. While their budget was unlimited, the owners required premium products, finishes, fixtures, technology and energy efficiency at their discretion.
KGID used previous experience in construction and property development to introduce improvements to the floor plan and kitchen design and personally designed and created all architectural elements of the home from custom cabinetry and wall panelling through to custom furniture, lighting schedule, flooring, spiral staircase and bathrooms.
