Measure the width of the fridge space and try to undershoot to avoid the problem. If it's 36" wide, going with a 30" or 33" (if that's a standard width) will save you the headache. If it's 36 and you want a 36" fridge, one consideration is getting a standard fridge instead of the ones with french doors and flipping the doors so the handle is on the right. A bit awkward, but at least it opens all the way. FInally, just check the manual before buying the fridge. It will tell you the minimum clearance you need next to the fridge to open the door. Reply to: Since you are near the beach, how about painting the walls a pretty color. Here are some ideas: When I think of the beach, I automatically think of blues and water colors. A light aqua would also be very pretty in your kitchen.
