4. Divide a large room. Whether you have an overwhelmingly large great room, or you live in a one-room apartment, slat walls can separate spaces and help define areas. In this home in Barcelona, Spain, a wooden screen separates the dining space from the kitchen, while allowing the chef to still see and hear guests. The screen also adds an interesting texture to both spaces, giving the home a Zen-bohemian vibe.

Desk? Haven't considered this before. Space for this or would it become wasted-space? Maybe an idea for laptop storage/homework station/TV placement. Not quite sold on this idea, just playing with it a bit.

Wood + white mix. Island. Like the white wrapped island. Interesting plywood finish. Review light wood color, against current oak floors.

White cabinets, simple hardware, marble style countertop. Kitchen idea. (not for laundry as shown)
Stainless! Interesting! Probably would not pursue and entire cabinet wall in stainless, but the concept is interesting.
Stainless counter top or partial countertop is something to explore. I don't think I'd like it for the entire island though.
Island with open seating on one end and storage on other. (Not this style of cabinets.) I like this idea as maximum storage is available on main part of island. We only need seating for 3.
Interesting use of glass doors for some of cabinetry.
This island's side storage is interesting- but only if it adds more storage than what the front area would provide.
Floor to ceiling cabinets for more storage. Probably not workable with our angled ceiling. Like the glass cabinet doors on jus a couple cabinets (the less messy ones!).
