1. Neo Mint
Set to be one of the biggest trends for 2020, colour forecasters are predicting that Neo Mint will be hitting the interiors market in a big way next year – and we can see why!
Beautifully fresh, this shade works well all year round, whether it’s against crisp white, bright coral or lavender in the summer, or as a strong backdrop to deeper blue-greens and lots of cosy bed linen and chunky knit throws in the winter.
Styling tip: If having a whole wall in this shade isn’t for you, why not make it the lightest in a palette of darker greens and blues and use it to paint a smaller wall, or a window frame instead?

2. All the Blues
Using the same colour throughout your bedroom doesn’t mean it will be bland – just use a variety of shades to keep it interesting. Here, you have a combination of dark, inky tones, pale baby blue and everything in-between, creating a beautiful blue fusion.
The deep, dark colour behind the bed provides a rich backdrop, while the neighbouring wall and skirting haver been painted in a paler shade as a contrast.
Bonus tip: Use the lightest paint shade for darker corners, and bolder colours for that statement touch.

3. Dark & Moody
It’s a common misconception that dark-painted walls will make your bedroom seem gloomy, when the reality is that they can actually create a cocooning feel that’s ideal for hibernating in, come bed time.
To keep the scheme feeling seamless, paint the skirting boards, picture rails and even the ceiling in your chosen colour – you won’t regret it!
Styling tip: Team your dark wall colour with accessories in on-trend jewel colours, while soft furnishings in luxe materials, such as velvet, suede and silk, will create a rich, opulent scheme. Stick to magenta, purple, dark blue and forest green to ramp up the plush feel.

4. New Neutrals
Not one for dark colours? Opt for a softer and lighter paint shade for your walls, such as white-grey, dusky pink or honey tones. To prevent a pinky shade from looking too girly, add black accessories and light fittings, and minimal furniture in clean sharp shapes.
Concerned a light wall colour will show up marks? Choose a paint finish that is designed for wear and tear, and you’ll get a hardier result – especially handy in a child’s room, where knocks and scrapes are common.
Bonus tip: Why not try painting just half of your wall? Not only will it add visual interest to your scheme, but it can create the illusion of more space; your ceiling will appear higher. Make sure to mask the halfway point so you get the perfect line.

5. Natural Touch
With life as busy as it is, bringing a touch of nature indoors can be instantly soothing. That doesn’t mean you need to paint your walls green though, if that’s not the colour for you – instead, take inspiration from your favourite flower, the sunrise or the sea.
Add in some textured throws and rugs in natural shades of oatmeal, beige and white to keep the scheme feeling fresh, and opt for earthy-coloured bed linen to keep the walls as the main attraction.
Styling tip: Wood furniture and accessories, such as the ones shown here, will all help to add a natural touch to your bedroom, as will plants – even if it’s just a single stem – to breathe some life into your scheme.

6. Crisp & Clean
You can’t beat pure white walls for a truly fresh feel, whether that’s inside or outdoors. However, if you’re worried about your bedroom looking too clinical, make sure to add in lots of soft, cosy textures, along with some pops of green and light wood accents, such as bleached wood, birch or rattan.
Bonus tip: Keep your walls feeling seamless, and your scheme feeling bigger and airier, by choosing window treatments, such as curtains or blinds, in the same colour as the walls and window frames.
