Simon and his team completed a major terrace renovation for me. We love the results and enjoy the house so much. I didn’t know exactly what was needed to repair the house and he looked after it all for me. Simon is professional, friendly, genuine, reliable, and collaborative. He identified problem and solutions, and offered great design ideas. I really appreciated his attention to detail. He leads a lovely, hardworking team. I would certainly want to work with him again.

Simon and his team were exceptional. From our initial discussions, Simon brought some amazing ideas, and turned them into a workable solution. The team are great communicators, prompt, and reliable, and have a wealth of experience. I highly recommend Additional Concepts.

Simon is a true professional. From our initial enquiry he was quick to respond and this never changed throughout the process. Communication was always open, clear and prompt (something I highly value). Simon is a great project manager, coordinating all parties effectively and efficiently to ensure everything is completed in a timely manner, whilst keeping us well informed of everything that was happening. Being an indecisive person, I also valued Simon's advice, bringing his depth of knowledge and experience to help us design the best functional layout and living spaces to work best for our lifestyle. I would highly recommend Simon and the Additional Concepts team to others.

Simon from Additional Concepts had a look at an Atrium (outdoor garden) we had in the middle of our living room. We were keen to convert this outdoor space and make it part of the living room but we were unsure about how to get enough day light and air flow into the room. Simon came up with the idea of a pop up roof with windows all around and louver windows for air flow. The entire process including design, council approvals, and execution was expertly managed by Simon and his team. Dave and Sean did most of the building work on the transformation. They were meticulous in their planning and execution, always polite and friendly and very considerate of us living in the house during the renovation. We are extremely happy with the final result and can highly recommend Additional Concepts.

Simon is fantastic to deal with. He provided clear scope with detailed quote and excellent communication at every point. I would have no hesitations recommending Simon and the team at Additional Concepts for a renovation project.

Simon, you had us at hello. Well, from concept stage actually. From our first meeting with Simon, we were blown away by the creative depth of his ideas. He took the time to understand how our family lives - key for designing a home that serves our needs now and in the future. None of the other builders or draftspeople we'd spoken to even came close to bringing that understanding of the intricacies of family life. Simon guided us the whole way, breaking each step into plain English. He's always patient, easy to be around and his eye for detail? IM-BLOODY-PECCABLE. With Simon's team, our renovation has created a bright, open, flowing home that is way more than we could have imagined possible. Don't read any more profiles or reviews - Additional Concepts is the best choice.

Simon and his team renovated bathrooms and laundry for me a few years ago (2017). With Simon's advice and guidance, choosing the tiles, taps, baths, etc was a process that was streamlined and finalised with ease. His team worked well together and accommodated my requests and timelines without any issue. I have no hesitation in recommending Additional Concepts to anyone looking to have building work done - be that from the beginning or renovating/updating.

Great team and a leader who worked with us every step of the way. Professional to a tee even when I was in indecisive or control freak mode! We had a lot of fun along the way and couldn’t have imagined a better end result. This was a major reno and our first so thanks Simon for your patience and expert advice to get us to the finish line. We’re looking forward to hiring you again once we’re ready to do upstairs!

You and Gary were a dream to work with and yes we had a lot of fun. So glad you are enjoying your home.

Lisa Maiden

We hired Simon and his team to help us renovate the kitchen and dining area of our lovely old inner city home. He was incredibly helpful in guiding us through our renovation project. We have always found him to be professional, prompt in service and of high standard in his work. We are very happy with how our house turned out and recommend working with Additional Concepts.

Simon and his team of merry tradesmen were like an extended part of our family by the time our considerable works were completed. They are punctual, skilled and, most importantly for me, trustworthy. Dave North the foreman found a bunch of solid gold chains a previous owner had secreted in the ceiling and handed them over to us. When we ran out of money mid-works and were waiting for the bank to extend our loan, Simon was very patient and understanding. A lot of people wouldn't have been so trusting and forgiving. The final job was excellent and we're super-confident of the longevity of works. Our only regret is not being able to enjoy the house more, given we sold it to move out of Sydney. Now we're in Newcastle and considering doing it all again, we just wish Simon was closer-by.

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thanks Rob! It was an absolute pleasure working with you on this project, and I dont say that because of the continuous supply of cookies you placed on the bench throughout the project, but the communication, collaboration and selections throughout the renovation ensured the end result was very pleasing. After speaking with the new owners, they have told me how much they are loving their new home.

Colin and Britta Bruce

We used additional concepts early this year to replace our top bathroom and stairwell windows plus the beams in our garage. We have used Addtional Concepts several times before and have always found them completely reliable, with great service and workmanship of high quality. Fully recommended.

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thank you Colin and Britta. It is always a pleasure working at your place.

Additional Concepts went above and beyond to ensure a difficult renovation to a strata title property went as smoothly as possible and to a high standard of finish. Simon Roy was a complete professional in all respects and made the process happen, overcoming many unexpected obstacles along the way. This builder operates with the highest integrity in a market place where others regularly do not.

Dealing with Simon and Additional Concepts is always a pleasure, They are continually looking to go above and beyond for their client and produce the best product they possibly can. Additional Concepts have always been easy to deal with as they are more than keen to accommodate us and work alongside us. I've always liked collaborating with Simon as he has this drive to create spaces with that extra design flair. He is passionate about whatever he puts his hand to and takes great pride in seeing a job come together right through to completion.

We used Additional Concepts for the structural building work surrounding our custom kitchen delivery and triple stack bi-fold door installation. Very professional tradesmen, great team, excellent work ethic, informative throughout the process and very accommodating to our work schedules and other trades. Highly recommended.

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thank you David. I was a pleasure working with you on your project and a joy to see your space transform. We look forward to working with you on your future projects.

Jac Marais

The team at Additional Concepts were professional, collaborative and an ideal partner for our small renovation. From the outset dealing with Simon Roy was a pleasure. He was happy to be guided by what we wanted to achieve but was not afraid to give his opinion on better solutions from a practical, finish and cost perspective. Once on site the team was very friendly and professional and worked well to incorporate changes we requested as we progressed. Living on site with a toddler was always going to be a challenge, but the team were meticulous in keeping the house tidy and construction mess quarantined so that our day to day living was minimally affected. Dave who ran the job on site was particularly conscious of this and ensured that not only his team in Olly and Simon worked efficiently to deliver a high standard of finish but that he held all the other trades (plumber, electrician, tiler) to the same standard. We are very happy with the result, coming in under budget too! We will definitely use the team at Additional Concepts again and already have a few projects lined up for them in the New Year.

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

A joy and privilege to collaborate with you both and we really do look forward to transforming your home into a more comfortable and enjoyable place to live.

Simon and his team are very knowledgeable, experienced, professional family based business, and very accommodating and easy to work with. Our renovations involved opening up walls, installing beams, repairs to plaster wall linings, electrical, installing windows and doors etc. Work is excellent and we have no hesitation in recommending Simon and his company

Thanks Mat. Loved working with you guys, and the bathroom selections made for a very nice outcome.

Melanie Gillam

I can't rate Simon and the team at Additional Concepts highly enough. We had never renovated a house before and the work that needed to be done was extensive and complicated. In fact, many builders we spoke to didn't want to do the job because it seemed too hard. Simon, was genuinely excited about the project right from the first meeting. He loved the design of our house and really saw it's potential. Simon is passionate about what he does and was constantly coming up with fresh ideas for tackling the many issues we faced and uncovered along the way. He has great communication skills, he listens well and is very collaborative. He also looked for opportunities to reuse materials and reduce costs throughout the project. The final product doesn't not look like a cent was spared though. The quality of the work is exceptional and is commented on by everyone that comes to our home. We lived in the house during our renovation which is hard. The respectful attitude and outstanding work ethic of Simon's entire team certainly made this easier to bear. I kind of miss them! Thank you Simon and the team for all your hard work and commitment - we love your work!

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thanks Mel
You and Rob were dream clients with great taste and an attitude to spend the money on doing things properly. It was an absolute privilege to work along side of you throughout the project. Thank you also for your hospitality and the constant flow of biscuits you provided us.

Anjli Gupta

The entire experience from quotation to completion was very professional and stress free. Simon and his team were very knowledgeable, helpful and efficient completing the work within the agreed time scale. We never felt like we were being pushed into upgrading for more expensive options and in fact the advice given was refreshingly honest and useful. My husband and I would recommend them without hesitation.

July 3, 2017

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thank you Anjli. It was a pleasure to work with you both. It is always more rewarding for us when the client makes great selections, as you did. The bathrooms look beautiful.

TR Allan

Extremely pleased with Simon and the team's work. They delivered under budget (recommending an alternative contract arrangement because they thought we would be better off - and we were) and we are very pleased with the overall quality. Great attitudes throughout, real problem-solvers and very friendly/easy to deal with.

July 3, 2017

Comment from Additional Concepts Pty Ltd:

Thanks guys, We really enjoyed working with you both in collaboration with Anne.
Would love to see the renovation now with all the furnishings and finish touches.

Leslie Farkash

After receiving a positive recommendation from a close friend I decided to give Additional Concepts a try. I was impressed with the honesty and integrity of Simon and his team. In fact the trades and services associated with Simon all portrayed this quality. Simon went beyond the normal builder services and assisted vetting and choosing a suitable house whilst I was absent from Australia and on my return , renovated it to to a very high standard. I have now engaged the firm to undertake further renovations. I would have no hesitation in recommending Additional Concepts to undertake building projects where good communication, professional advice and timely response is important as is the quality workmanship..

Thank you to Simon and his team for transforming our backyard. We went from a large unusable back yard, to a beautifully constructed tiered yard, and deck. Simon, Chris and the team were professional in every step of the project, sticking to budget and timeframes. We were delivered a beautiful deck, which we now regularly enjoy with family and friends. I can't speak highly enough. Planning on using The team again for our upcoming works to our kitchen and living areas. Thanks again, Simon Chris and team. Amanda

Worked with these guys on a clients house in St Ives and can't recommend them enough! They keep us informed of any unseen glitches as well as great ideas to solve any problems without impeding on our aesthetics. They are on top of our clients budgets which is not an easy task and just to top it off they are the most tidiest builders I have ever met in my life?!!

Simon & Additional Concepts became known to us originally through the referral of friends who had worked with them in the past. They were very happy to recommend them to us as we are very happy to recommend them on to others embarking on their own construction adventures! From commencement on site to completion the work was undertaken in a friendly and professional manner by Simon and the team. Work was well coordinated with little interruption between trades allowing us to meet some early deadlines which were important to the family. Coming from the industry myself it was also important to me that whoever worked with us was not just able to build well but would do so with consideration of the design outcome that we were looking for.....with Additional Concepts I felt we got this. On a more personal level we genuinely felt that they were just a really nice group of guys to work with. All in all our experience was difficult to fault and we look forward to getting in touch again when the next project needs a kick into reality.

Simon was able organise our renovation project quickly and efficiently, while keeping us in the loop every step of the way. Knowing he and his team had it all under control greatly reduced our stress levels and we are very happy with the result. Simon and his team did an excellent job executing and managing the excavation, footings, form work and structural steel installation for our complicated building project. Simon oversaw the whole project and also connected us with electrical, plumbing and other specialists as required.

ATS Tiles & Bathrooms

We have been working with Simon & Peter from Additional Concepts for almost a decade now and they have certainly mastered reliability, consistency and top notch workmanship! We frequently deal with their customers and the common denominator among all their clients is the satisfaction and peace of mind they share. If you're doing extensions, new builds or renovations, then we can not recommend Additional Concepts enough, they are professional, honest, have excellent work ethic and importantly, are extremely friendly and fun to work with.

October 15, 2015

We love working with you all at ATS. We certainly feel a comfort in knowing you will always look after our clients and us for that matter. Your product knowledge and strong supplier relationships is evident, resulting in a trouble free supply of bathroom/tile items and ongoing service in the odd occasion of a defective product.
