OOF! Architecture

We have worked with Fooi on two occasions. The first in 2012 when we did a large extension on the back of our house, and the second in 2020 when we built a pool and studio in the backyard. On both occasions Fooi (and Jack second time round) were 100% supportive of working with us to make our ideas come to life. Fooi has a knack of listening to the brief and then delivering something creative and interesting, whilst remaining acutely practical. She is considered in her work, and was conscientious about ensuring we were happy. She's also really cool and funny which makes things easy! If we decide to reno again (the only option left is to go up-stairs!) I would love to work with Fooi again.

I purchased a tiny apartment that I wanted to renovate and Oof! Architecture took on the challenge of my strange ideas and small budget without hesitation. Fooi and Jack were an absolute pleasure to work with! They are creative, open-minded and organised. They made my ideas possible and never questioned feasibility as they were always creative enough to make it happen or suggest a workaround. From the very start, they focused on what I wanted. We utilised platforms such as Pinterest for visual communication and had meetings that were frequent and structured. In short, they made my imaginations come to life and offered ideas that I could have never thought of myself. When it came to the administrative side of the renovation (e.g. council applications, building permits etc), it all just happened without me needing to lift a finger! Additionally, through their connections in the building/design world, they were able to recommend me a builder who has also been fabulous. Fooi and Jack were basically able to make all the boring parts of renovating, non-existent. All in all, I cannot recommend them enough and I would definitely want to work with them again! I have worked with Fooi and David, from OOF! architecture on two separate extension projects, and on both occasions I have been very impressed with their professional and dedicated approach to the project, regardless of scale or budget. They translate their understanding of the way humans (and their pets) move through their built environments into beautiful AND practical spaces that are a joy to live in. We have been living in our recent extension for nearly six years now and there is nothing I wish we'd done differently in hindsight, (we have Fooi and David to thank for that). They were open and honest about both where we shouldn't compromise, and where a less expensive option might work just as well, and in doing so helped us to create a great space within our budget limitations. Fooi and David just love what they do, and it can be seen and felt in their finished projects. I wouldn't consider working with anyone else on any future work.

Fooi and her team delivered an excellent design for our townhouse renovation. We had high expectations of what a design could deliver on our compact site and Fooi came up with exciting and beautiful solutions. I highly recommend OOF for innovative and exciting architectural solutions.

We have commissioned Fooi for two home renovation projects in the last 5 years. Fooi is professional, diligent and above all highly creative. She finds innovative solutions to challenges and produces spaces that are practical and stylish. Fooi is extremely client focused and is always working to ensure you are completely happy with the finished space, down to the finest detail. But essentially what encouraged us to return as repeat customers is their relational approach, meticulously exploring how we wanted to live in each space and translating these conversations into creative and elegant architectural solutions. To each and every transaction they bought personal warmth, a keen energy to engage, an open mind and a willingness to work with any job regardless of size. On both occasions we were in older homes and OOF! Architecture demonstrated a genuine respect for the history and bones of the spaces. Thanks to OOF! Architecture our current kitchen and decking are not only beautiful but also functional and always get gasps of admiration from guests commenting how unique and special they are. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend OOF! Architecture or work with them again. There is a great depth as well as range to their ideas, techniques and solutions.

I have worked with Fooi, over a number of projects. As a builder, I have found her to be very approachable and easy to work with throughout the building process, she is open to suggestions and an effective communicator. Fooi's depth and breadth of knowledge of design and building materials contribute to her ability to articulate and share her vision across various mediums. Which is why I have employed her to design my own renovation and extension, which is progressing very well.
