We engaged Yardstick to design a garden plan for our backyard in 2025. With a few tweaks in the design by Feb 2026 we were ready to proceed. Our original budget got exceeded, but when looking at changes we could make to reduce the cost, we ended up going all in! The team who completed the implementation were great and easy to communicate with. We are very happy with everything, and would highly recommend them.

We’re so pleased with the outcome - it’s beautiful and we’re quite thrilled. Peter's design work was spot on, and although we were excited by the drawings and CAD video walkthrough etc, seeing it come to life has been a huge thrill. Every morning now when I look out our windows I’m seeing the property as I had always hoped it might one day present. The landscaping team did a marvellous job, and were really diligent in the professional approach to the work. They were most considerate along the way, and we appreciated how much they tidied as they went, including the final cleanup. I enjoyed some discussion, banter and advice from them along the way.

They came out to provide a quote to us some 3 months ago, and have failed to follow up on our phone calls and emails in regards finalising the revised quote and not mention, starting work? If you now feel the job is perhaps too small at least have the courtesy to let customers know by way of responding? Very poor attitude and communication and certainly not professional.

We hired Peter from Yardstick to design a landscape for an unusual garden layout, which incorporates a multiple courtyard arrangement. Peter was up to the challenge and delivered a wonderful design that will definitely enhance our unique home. We're going to do as much of the project as a DIY (to keep an already blown budget in check), but once we get through the council approvals process, we'll be in touch with Peter for his assistance to ensure the set out is accurate and we build the beautiful landscape garden he has created with very detailed and comprehensive plans.

We are delighted with our new garden. Peter and his team turned our bland, dated courtyard into a sanctuary that we will enjoy all year round. It has been cleverly designed to make the most of our small space. The pergola and plants help to shield us from the hot westerly sun in summer but maximise sun exposure in winter. We look forward to seeing the garden become even more beautiful as the plants grow over the coming years.

Pete really listened to our brief of wanting privacy, different levels and a great entertaining space in what is a very compact courtyard. What was once a concrete slab is now a private sanctuary that everyone comments on which met out brief and is now our favourite "room" in the house. As we did the labour ourselves with no prior experience, it was fantastic help to have Pete answer my (fairly frequent I'm afraid) questions! I would recommend.

Pete took a bland and very square space to a beautiful layout, using all the elements which needed to be incorporated - coastal environment, low maintenance, dog tolerant and bin camouflaging. Still continue to get compliments!
