Comments (9)I see a couple things straight up that need attending to. Overhead power lines through palm. Large areas of pebblecrete, just way to much. Lace Handrail. Doesn't suit the house style. The plants growing across the facia and close to side. Entry way for termite's. Not necessarily at that facia height but certainly a possibility down low. Tilt a Doors. Comments (10)Thanks girlguides and me me. I had thought to follow what is there now, lighter fence, but I like the idea of woodland grey fence. I didn't get a dune sample, but I had thought that was a good match. I got surfmist, which I loved, but was too scared to go that light. Surfmist looks look very light/white, so that on windows perhaps, woodland grey fence, surfmist eaves (or white) and dune gutters. Hmmm, that's great food for thought. I shall get a dune sample and mock up a visual of it. Yep, drought-tolerant landscaping would be nice, but I must admit, I am not a fan of alot of natives. Comments (6)Hello, this is exactly why window treatment specialists such as ourselves exist! There are a lot of options depending on your preference for internal look. Some simple ideas such a dual roller blinds have already been referenced. You’ll have to meet with a consultant to see how two fabrics pair, especially if you’re considering one being light filtering. You can also mix treatments such as a dark roller blind recess fit to the window, and a light roman blind fit over the architrave which will give you a soft fabric finish. Alternatively white plantation shutters contrasting an exterior black window frame can actually look really stunning. It does depend on the style of the black framing you use. Comments (9)I think the existing colour is about right for the house . Go too much lighter and it starts to get the same as the doors , so you don't achieve anything . Go more mushroom and it wouldn't look right for the style of house , grey is just grey and done to death , and to add a blue tinge or similar would make it look older IMO . An English Cream or similar might look smart and modern , and a bit less yellow than the existing shade -- that's the range I'd look at IF it needs doing . Doing the door alcove in charcoal will add some interest , but it will also darken it , so I'd be reluctant , and I'd keep away from brown tones , or blues or reds or anything else . Both Kate and I have suggested a wooden garage door , and I suggested changing the entrance door to match . If you go charcoal , a wooden door wouldn't achieve much , while the existing white doors could look 'cheap' . In other words , my personal preference would be keep the existing colour , and change the garage and entrance door . They will fade and weather too , referencing the beach location . Add 2 or 3 bright warm coloured pots with cacti and similar beach plants and you have a subtle beach look ....See More
