When you render the bricks I would consider leaving some of them exposed here and there - that reminds me of old Tuscan buildings! I would include some large terracotta pots with olive trees or lemon trees, also as others have suggested some brightly coloured geraniums in hanging baskets against the wall or in terra cotta pots. If you are happy with the walls as they are , its a huge cost and effort to just hide some power points . To a small degree , it will also depend what you want to run . Really power hungry appliances ( 2000 watt heaters etc ) may need new wiring , rather than just hooking into the existing wiring . But like bigreader , I'd look at coduit , extension leads ( if lower power use ) and even multi-boxes -- I have used individually switched brushed stainless 4 way ones ( about $80 instead of $10 beige unswitched ones ) and even mounted them to the wall -- they look quite classy and purposeful . And if all else fails , using furniture to hide leads is a good idea .

Do this yourself it will save money. Figure out how much of the wall you are wanting to cover, figure out how wide u want the slats and then the gap. Then make sure you have the tools and order the materials from a hardware store or bunnings. Tools youll need are nails, hammer or brad nailer, level, pencil a set square. Thats all i can think of right now.

As in our house because the wall at the end of the passage was only a doorway space from the Arch there wasn't any load bearing problem Check with council to see if you can find any old plans, the Archway to the bathroom could be just because you could or that space had a different use a lot of bathrooms and kitchens were at the rear of house the house during that period
