Comments (1)Hi Italiangall001, You're right, external colours on large walls do appear a shade or two lighter. A colour that's slightly darker on the same leaf of the dulux fandeck is 'Linseed' or even 'barnfloor'. They're also a little more contemporary. You could then offset the trim with beige royal half. You can see the way externals can be modernised in some of these before and after shots. Good luck. Richard@themakeovergroup...See MoreHas anyone used colorbond gully for feature wall?

Comments (1)One would ideally be happy with your paint choice well before a painter turned up. I also have a tiny austerity cottage, wide chamferboard, highset on brick. My roof is tin. If its helps my home is painted a strange kind of putty colour with white trim. Although I didn't choose the scheme it works fairly well. These little cottages tend to look best in pastels if I'm being honest. There are several nearby in quite intense greys and it doesn't show the house to best effect. They are such dimunitive houses that they look best in lighter colours with white trims. It's what suits them. One day I may paint mine a very light grey/green. But that is way, way down the list of priorities. At the moment the colour suits and there is no need to change it. MIne is most simuiar to Dulux Rice Cake. I would go with Lyttleton half of the three you mentioned....See More- 10 years ago
