Good basics, and I like that rug. Use the colours in it by adding some kitchen accessories and wall art with similar colours. That long blank wall by the entry to the kitchen could definitely do with something large with lots of red in it. I would probably reduce the amount of stuff on the big sideboard, though - relative to the rest of the space, it looks a little cluttered.

Is there space to put one pf the armchairs on the other side of the coffee table? Would zone the living area and be better layout for conversation. If not, maybe separate them a little with the small table you currently have the lamp on. Definitely add some cushions etc to go with rug colours. I would then put a plant in the corner where the small lamp is. I don't think you need the small one, it's not really in a useful location and there's nothing there that benefits from lighting. Have fun!

The whole thing is very 'beige'. If you're planning on renting it, that's fine. if you're living there, you need to give it some personality. It reminds me of going to look at rental units when I was young. And personally, I hate the picture you found for the wall - too busy and just looks like you're trying too hard to add a 'pop' of colour so I hope you haven't bought that! I'd pick out some cushions in the same colours as the rug - so orange, red, black - and you could throw some green in there too as it looks like the plants you have are close to that room - put a couple of plants in there as well to liven things up. (Just noticed you do have a couple that I didn't even notice!) The long wall, that seems to run right through your apartment, I would paint a different colour so it's not all beige. A less expensive thing to do if it is where you are living - is to get some family photos up - lots in small frames work together, or photos of any travels you may have done - places you love. You can paint the outline of a large frame on your wall, and then put smaller framed photos inside which you can contniue to update as you life changes. Lay it out on the floor first to make sure it looks good together.

The room has very good bones. And you have your basic colour scheme. Like others I would add some sheer curtains on the longer window. You need some cushions and maybe a throw in neutral natural colours with a bit of accent colour...maybe the red. I would remove most of the things from the top of the dresser as it is distracting with the kitchen bench behind. Maybe add a low flat bowl for some fruit. And group three favourite photos together... Either to the wall side of the dresser or on the table between the chairs and three seater. Only keep that lovely large lamp I would also remove the small table and lamp with the clock and experiment with removing some of the ornaments. Consider placing the giraffe and friends on the floor beside the TV. You seem to have green fingers so using plants could add extra softness. Make red your pop colour but only use a small amount. Great start Samir! In the kitchen have you thought about a glass splash back in the kitchen to add to the modern steel elements you've added in?

Maybe even a large mirror on the wall opposite the long bench to make the place feel larger and more open?

NO - don't do a family 'photo shoot' - much too formal - just frame photos you already have either individually, or in those big frames that might hold 10 or 12 photos. Frame the photos you love!!!! That have great memories for you! If you don't have any, take the family to the beach or the park and take some happy snaps and frame those. Don't make it formal - the whole place doesn't feel lived in - make it more casual so it looks like you people actually live there! and have different sized pictures and different sized frames. It looks like a show home at the moment - there are no personal elements in there at all. Shake it up! :)

Actually some sheer curtains to the floor across where those high up windows are could be a nice addition too not in Beige, Brown or White though - again, too 'nothing' - pick on of the colours of your rug.
