I thought it part of their Melbourne series but cannot find it either. Im not sure what else to suggest. guess you would have completed the update by now but just in case, They built great houses in the 70"s, a lot had concrete tiled roofs, have them checked and if sound paint them grey along with gutter and barge boards as you suggested but please do a soft grey otherwise it will look too top heavy, down pipes same colour as bricks (photo of soft grey roof) Paint garage doors same as brick colour minus the stripe, Front entrance update would help, does this open into a small foyer Railing, windows painted, I prefer black for this, I have attached a photo of a house that the owners had the roof painted, they painted all the metal windows themselves, said it was easy. Paving in front of entrance, this photo shows they used white pebbles and pavers with a small screen, plus a new hedge. similar entrance doors to these let in much needed light as these houses can be quite dark

There is a company that matches the existing and paints the new brick. Quite expensive apparently but can't pick new from old so could end up being not to bad. Rendering and painting adds up quickly so really isn't the cheap compromise many believe. Could use a completely different brick which has been done as well, selective cladding, etc.. You could reuse some existing bricks if they're being removed to allow the new works. Many builders and bricky's don't like the labour of cleaning bricks so it could be worthwhile doing it yourself or hiring in a labourer to do it for you. Note that some bricks can't be cleaned due to the mortar used so check it first.

Love the photo posted by Dr Retro of brick house with dark joinery. I would paint the boards on second level above front door, say Resene Ironsand as well as downpipes that sit in front of the brick around the house. Also paint the barge board in Ironsand on the roof line and also around the top of the square roof above the front door. Under the eaves, and front door paint a light taupe colour like Resene Quarter or Eighth Pravda. Paint the pillars (if that's not a stain on them) the Ironsand again. The garage door also back to Ironsand if possible. Ok, that's all very dark.. paint your front door a super vibrant colour! Turquoise, fire engine red or bright orange. Remember to ask about cool colour technology at Resene with the dark colours as you live in a hot climate. We all have different ideas but that's the vision I see. Good luck.
