Yes schanop we have tiled the floor. 600x600 travertine tiles. We also tiled our family room as well. It was sage coloured carpet on the left of the picture and vinyl on the right side as seen in above picture. We are really happy with how it all turned out. One big open space. Now to furnish it :)

Hi Vy We offer any standard color, white just seems to be the main choice generally. Cost is generally calculated on a m2 price & incorporate's a few factors like condition/material of panels, gap filing/repair required, are all panels removable or will onsite spraying be required. To give you an idea the average price for kitchen's we resurface is around $2,500-$3,500 Obviously price will vary due to size of kitchen & factors mentioned above however that's a general price range.

Hi. We are considering the same thing (will attach the link pic we found on Houzz that we like) as we decided we would rather have one big open uninterrupted island rather than plonking a sink right in the centre. Inevitably stuff gets left draining/sitting/hanging around the sink so would rather not have it on display. And also every time you have visitors you end up standing in the kitchen around the island so better to have one large space. Very exciting to be building a new home! I would include a second sink with your layout. This will stop your guests coming into your pantry to fill up a glass or the kettle etc. particularly as you want to keep the mess hidden. I personally think it can be handy to have two sinks as this is often a pinch point with two cooks and with clean up vs prep for next course or coffee and tea after dinner. I think you are right about the window seat not being as desirable without the northern sun. Bedroom 1 or 5 could be a good option if you could imagine yourself sitting there with a good book.
