Glass doors thoughts on framed or not
We like the look of theses frameless sliding glass doors but have concern over wind leakage thru seals. Has anyone used them in high wind zone.

Comments (7)While both are great options we agree with Tribbletrouble44152k7 Trek - definitely depends on your space. We personally like swing or pivot doors - easier to clean, space efficient and easy to assemble if you are doing it DIY. Alternatively you could use a glass screen and do away with the door all together if that's possible? Comments (1)If you are having real blackbutt or spotted gum timber floors, which will be a great feature, then I wouldn't go with the imitation wood look plastic windows. The contrast between the real, natural timber floor will accent the fakeness of the imitation timber. You will get a cleaner look by the having the interior and exterior frames the same colour, and with the grey brick/monument cladding I would go with the white window frames inside and out. Comments (5)Hi Adele, I decided to roll with them and work the colours around them to draw attention away from the primrose. I’m so happy with the result. We painted the walls Dulux natural white and added new roller blinds in all areas with a view. We installed white shutters on all side windows of the house as they have no view. The shutters of course completely hide the primrose. The dulux natural white paint gave us the beautiful white look we wanted whilst also being a warm enough colour not to clash or highlight the yellow tint of the primrose. We installed a white kitchen and white shutter in the kitchen(no view on this side) We installed new flooring, it has a slight warmth without being yellow. Comments (21)This company, on their website gives pricing for all components to install a new door and framing. If you add up all the cost of the components for the size of door you want, then you can work out whether the quote received is good. Remembering your quote probably includes the removal of the existing door, installing the new door, frame and glass. So therefore a labour component is included in quote. 10 years agoHi, we are based in New Zealand and provide a stacking or bifolding frameless glass system with top & bottom horizontal rails or patch fittings. The Vetro Stack. We have successfully installed in high wind zone, see image below. N.B. they will never be 100% weatherproof however we provide clear weatherseals for the vertical gaps/door edges.

- 10 years agoWell i'm sad to say i found this house and was quoted over 200k for our house. Went there yesterday and found out that the owner was totally pissed off as in last weeks wet weather and 90kph winds his house was flooded. So with that i thank you all for your comments. i will go back to bi-folds with frames for ours now.
