I would remove the venetian and use the space for a coloured glass bottle display. The changing patterns of light light coming through the coloured glass will be different at different times of the day. Many succulents require good light levels, and a coloured glass display can look great with even low levels. Look for Murano glass which has gorgeous colours when daylight shines throigh it. Even if you did find a window to match it is not going to make a substantial improvement to the front elevation. The window on the right hand side was built when the house was built, and is "framed" by the brickwork. It is fairly narrow in comparison to the other one as it has a steel lintel above the window support which supports the brick gable. The window on the left hand side was placed in at a much later stage to convert a verandah to a sunroom. There is no need to support brickwork above this window, so the opening is much wider. The structure, roofline and proportions of the openings are quite different between these two parts of the house. Replacing the aluminium window with a timber window will not improve the proportions or change it from looking like an enclosed verandah. You may improve the thermal comfort of the sunroom if you did change it over, especially if the new window is double glazed, as a timber framed window transmits less heat than an aluminium framed window. Looking at the outside, why are the windows in the extension different from the other windows? Is it an aesthetic choice or a pragmatic one? Since the windows are different, why not make them a statement? Do something creative with the glass . There are all kinds of coloured and textured glass. Go talk to your local glassworks. Or investigate stained glass options. You can even paint glass with special paints for a stained glass look. You might be able to find a local glass artist who could design you something stunning. Look on it as an opportunity, not a problem to be fixed. And compare prices. You might find an option you can afford that turns the windows into a wonderful feature. However, if you really want a window covering, I would recommend shutters. We have recently put in plantation shutters in our back sun room. We love them. They changed the whole look of the room for the good, provide absolute control of light and privacy, and are much easier to clean than venetians. You can get them in any colour you want if you pick the right company and they are very cost effective in small areas, but be aware that they measure in place for accurate sizing and the actual shutters are custom made in China. Ours took over 3 months to arrive, due to Covid. Then we had to wait for the installer another week or so. But they were definitely worth the wait. They are hinged so you can open them out to easily clean the window glass, and the shutters themselves just wipe clean.

Hello, we are in a reno! Started in January and because of COVID, still in progress in August (and probably beyond) ha ha! It's a 50s home going smarter/Danish maybe?? But we are looking for blind for 2 x double windows in bedrooms and 1 x lounge bay window. Is there anyone in Adelaide who can recommend a good blind company please?
