Pool area plant suggestions please
Comments (8)Has no-one any idea how totally destructive ALL Ficus plants are - especially around pools. If people dont know anything at all about plants, then they should leave advice to the experts. Ficus have horrific root systems. It may take 10 to 20 years for the damage to become evident, but the damage costs a lot of money to resolve. Experienced and plant knowledgeable garden designers know NEVER to use Ficus in any situation other than in pots - and even here they need to be raised pots off the ground. Do not offer advice if you are plant ignorant. Many landscapers plant and walk away, with no accountability for their flawed advice or landscaping. They can be sued for this. Plant growers grow these plants because of the demand - not because they are good plants. A reputable Horticulturist-designer would never suggest Ficus planted into a garden - especially around a pool. Their roots are shockers....See Moreplant ID please
Comments (2)Hi, I can't help you identify it but can let you know I found an app that connects green thumbs round the world - you post pics of plants and they identify it for you. Think it's called SmartPlant™. I used it and they were very quick and informative and spot on!...See Moreplant selection - please help!
Comments (3)Thank you so much JE and Julie! The existing street front hedge is Murraya but is twiggy where we need it most - could be age, except that where it faces north it’s thick, so I’m guessing sun exposure is an issue. Hopefully the viburnum will be better!!!...See MoreLandscaping driveway and front garden- please comment and advise
Comments (7)I do love native violets but they show their best with some shade. For full sun a very rough forums cover with small white flowers is myoporum. The Gardening with Angus site has a great plant selector for other options. Good on you for looking at standard Lilly pilly - they give you greenery all year around unlike roses, weeping cherries etc....See MoreItalian Girl
