Comments (1)Hi, A good way to start is to draw a scaled floor plan of the space. When you see furniture that you like, you can then cut out; also to the same scale, the basic dimensions. This will make it easier to assess the foot traffic around the room and furniture layout. You may find a modular to big and limiting to layout. Maybe a sofa with 2 accent chairs (not necessarily matching) gives more possibilities. Also consider which direction the room is facing and what light it receives, this may also help with layout in terms of the TV, i.e will the sun shine making it hard to see the screen. Hope that helps....See MoreHelp with living room design
Comments (7)I think the main thing to think about would be traffic flow. You need to make sure you have adequate space between the chairs and the kitchen bench to allow passage through to the meals area, and between the two-seater and the sliding doors to access the deck. You might want to use masking tape to mark all the placements out to see how they fit and how the traffic flow is. You might also want to think about whether you want to be in the al fresco area looking in at the back of a couch. Personally, I'd probably go for chairs there, but that's just me. I like some of the pieces you've chosen, especially the larger sofa and the chairs. And it looks like a very nice space to play around with....See MoreLiving room furniture design tips pleeeaaasssee

While the sofa loses some of the open plan look, you need to be functional unless you have a TV room. The bookcase will add a real warmth. If you use swivel armchairs, you can swivel to watch TV or swivel to face the sofa when just talking. We have these and they are very functional....See MoreSina Sadeddin Architectural Design
