Not sure why Helioscreen said that the 3m may sag as they have blinds up to 4.2m wide - but the tube is a heavier duty tube (120mm diameter). We have installed blinds from Vertilux with 3.2m, 3.4m and 3.6m widths without any sagging - but you need to choose the right fabric. Thanks all for the suggestions! White ceiling really makes sense thanks Helen. I would not have thought to do that but as i sat out there over the weekend it makes perfect sense. At this stage I'll stick to repainting the deck as well due to the cost but long term I'll definitely be looking at sanding or replacing the timbers of the deck. With all the dark colours it really does have an oppressive feeling and i almost feel like i need to hunch over as i walk through so lightening up the colour scheme is definitely the way to go. And yes Angela those blind will be going :)

Ta heaps, Jodes. 2 years post reno and we’re still lovin‘ it - it’s so practical and easy to clean. I’d have yours any day too btw. You’re lucky to have a sparkie on tap. We don’t. Our cabinet maker threw in the strip lighting. I thought it was a nice but unnecessary extra; something I wouldn’t have asked for. But like you, I’m so glad it’s there - no working in your shadow. It’s brilliant. An absolute must in any future kitchen reno now. The MW is good but a bit impatient - it beeps too much! We had a 20yr old Sharp carousel, so the new one was a bit of a tech leap. It‘s pretty easy to get used to. We use the combo function a lot, and the rice program does a great job. Wish it cleaned itself tho! Since seeing your fridge, I’ve been on alert every time ours makes a weird noise, hoping this is it - bang - ceased motor. New fridge! Keep us updated about your window coverings. It’s a lovely looking home. You and your hubby have done really well. :-)

The white letterbox , and the shrubs , looks really nice . But do you want your bedroom to look like the inside of an esky ? The roof is white , surely you want some colour somewhere on the walls ? The existing walls look a creamy beige , the blind looks beige , the curtains look a fawny beige . Maybe I'm oldschool , but I like 1 wall as a feature wall with at least some colour , and the rest a plainer version of that . For example , I have a warm blue room , with slightly darker wallpaper on the wall behind the headboard ( heading towards a royal blue ) with a gold stripe around 5mm wide , and then a light blue and another gold stripe only about 1mm wide either side of that ( well , 6-8mm away ) . That probably sounds like something your gran would have had , but it actually looks modern , and interesting . And again they aren't trendy any more , but the blinds are warm natural wood venetians . I'm definitely not suggesting that , nor ruling it out , but IMO any white room outside an art gallery is lacking life , lacking colour , lacking imagination -- even if you add some colourful art or duvet colour ( I think you Aussies call them dooners ? ) or rug , its still a white base .
