I am a volunteer educator of an assistance dog - Labradoodle. They are very intelligent, good natured, love people, but if I was to choose a designer dog for myself, I would choose a cavalier poodle cross due to them being just that bit smaller and not able to put paws up on kitchen counters etc. I had a friend that had a cavalier and they have the sweetest personality. Not sure what the difference is between a cavapoo and a cavoodle.

Don't buy from anyone, go online and check with local Vets, one of ours has a dog rescue set up and lists animals on the website and Facebook. www.sweetpeaanimalhospital.com.au (and rescue).

Labradors and crosses are beautiful intelligent animals, they also end up in the pound on death row through no fault of their own.

We bought our first Schnoodle fourteen years ago, and he continues to be the best family pet ever. We loved him so much that we bought a second Schnoodle from the same breeder, but with different parents. You couldn't get more opposite dogs as far as personality, so much depends on the individual. Our first Schnoodle is a lot more like a Schnauzer in looks and personality, and our second Schnoodle is much more like a poodle in looks and personality. While these dogs make excellenf family pets there is a bit more variation between individuals as they are not a pure breed, and it is really the luck of the gene pool. I would make sure to meet the parents and visit the puppy to understand their personality before purchasing if you are looking at a poodle cross.

There’s a Facebook group called Groodle and oodle rescue and rehome australia. I think you really need to consider your lifestyle and how much energy you can accommodate in a dog, as well as the size you’re after. The oodles in your poll are completely different size and energy. It will also depend on whether they are crossed with a toy, miniature or standard poodle.

A cavoodle and cavapoo are the same thing (cavapoo is the American name).

We chose a cavoodle which suits our apartment and activity levels. Intelligent and easy to train with a lovely personality and doesn’t shed, but as already mentioned, these things are not guaranteed with cross breeds and you need to thoroughly research and meet the parents and breeder.

Oodles are almost too popular for their own good and there are many less than ethical breeders out there. Do your due diligence and make sure the parents both have DNA tests available to see. There are Facebook groups for cavoodles, spoodles etc that have a wealth of information. My advice is take your time and research well to ensure you end up with the right dog for you. Good luck.

Why not get a poodle? We have a mini poodle and he is adorable. There are so many poodle crosses out there now and you can never be sure what personality you will get. Also puppy breeders are not created equal, many puppies are bred on puppy farms. The most important thing in choosing a dog is what your lifestyle is. There are web sites that will help you do that.

We have a cavoodle and he is our sons dog (you know, we feed him, we get him washed etc but our son is his 'master'...lol...)

Anyway they do suffer from separation anxiety (they can learn to cry and howl very easily) so be prepared to have them only happy when they are trotting around at or under your feet.

Very clean, very smart, no shedding, does a couple of tricks and a super, super dog with kids... so placid (a sook actually)

Consider a cavachon - King Charles Spaniel/Bichon. Such a sweet nature and so gentle and affectionate. I minded 2 cavoodles last Christmas and we have a cavachon. I admit bias but the cavoodles were surprisingly different in personality so while they look sweet as puppies I think you may not know what you're getting in terms of temperament. Our cavachon is

4yo now but has been a delight.

Why not have a look at the Irish Soft Coated Wheaten. They have a simmilar look to some of the oddle crosses. They are active, friendly and low shedding. They are also not breed to excess and are rarely if ever dumped.

They are a lot less than the cost of some of the oddly crosses, and when you buy from a registered breeder there are lots of advantages over the back yard breeders.

Responsible registered breeders can tell you that the purebred dog is far more predictable as to its temperament, behaviour, appearance, size and even colour than a crossbred dog.

Responsible breeders will provide background about the breed and discuss the characteristics of the adult dog and whether it is suitable for your lifestyle.

You will receive a documented history of the puppy and you will be able to see both parents or other family members.

All registered breeders are bound by a strict Code of Ethics, covering responsible dog ownership and breeder responsibilities relating to the keeping, welfare, breeding and selling of dogs. This Code of Ethics ensures you a healthy, happy and well-adjusted puppy.

So, why not have a look at the Wheaten.

We have a shabrador (well, we had to call him something! half sharpei, half Labrador ) -not a designer dog, an accident, acquired from the RSPCA. My advice, hit the local animal shelters and find a dog whose individual personality suits you and your lifestyle. Toby is all sharpei in personality - reserved, protective, definitely not a lick your face lab type, but does love a good swim. Suits us just fine but wouldn't suit folks looking for a demonstrative pet at all.

Cavoodle all the way, I've had a cappuccino one, my parents now have a black one and my neighbour has one from the same litter. Super cute, attentive, great with kids and great house dogs.

Hi, we dont have a cavoodle. We have a cavchon. Similar. we bought her from the pet shop in Bondi Junction shopping centre on the ground floor. She's beautiful in every way and has the sweetest nature.
