Looking at the tiles in the mock up perhaps run a large tile across the passage, not sure about the rest of the flooring without seeing it, but keep it simple and it won't date. Can you show the tiles laid like this cheers

Unfortunately not siriuskey, still in court mode till march. So going to do buy up of things at post xmas sales in preparation for when we start again. Wife doesn't like polished concrete and believe it or not i had it price'd out for the 300sqm we will need and would cost nearly twice the price. The only rooms to get carpet are bedrooms. And with tiles i can put electric underfloor heating in the cantilever area to help in winter.

Sorry to hear that, your Mock up looks good with the flooring you have shown and love the Ply ceiling, I used it for our very large kitchen island bench top, looks great and very affordable. The Xmas sales sound like a good time to pick up some bargains, don't forget Grays Online.

regarding the floor my only suggestion would be to avoid the grout line down the centre as you have it.

it is the first thing that draws your eye, and if you are going to the detail and expense you are then looking down is not what is going to show it off.

From that I mean make it complementary to other things not competing.... eg a simple 1/3rd 2/3rd off set to break up the line and allow your ceiling feature to draw the eye.

Hi Doug, Lay your tiles across the passage to give it visual width. You could continue the same direction in the larger living areas. Also the wall opposite the stone wall is much too dark. It comes in on you. The look you should be after is a broad, spacious, welcoming look. Not the tight little alley you have in your pic.
