Best memory from your childhood bedroom?
Comments (38)I was about 12 when I got my own room. Previously I shared a room with my mother as she was widowed. I chose the wall colours, aqua, a brownish colour and two burnt orange walls. Sounds dreadful but the colours were more subtle than they sound. I had an aqua chenille bedspread and and blue and white see through curtains that blew in the breeze. Out of my window I could see an orchard of plum trees. On the floor was a patterned carpet with a rim of polished floorboards (only the edges polished). A bookshelf, a desk, a wardrobe, a dressing table and my grandmother’s sandalwood glory box furnished the room. Love this post as it brought back memories of the 1960s for me....See MoreWhat size curtains?
Comments (11)Width: cover around 20cm more than your window at each side. Example your window is 200cm, curtains total width will be cover around 240cm. curtains will be around 480cm width in total after gather or with waves. Height: you need add about 20cm above the upper window frame, and fall along the bottom edge of the window frame or 25cm below. Example your window is 150cm height, curtains would be at least 195cm height or fall 2cm above the floor. We suggest you install the hardware first. Generally, curtain rods or tracks are installed about 15cm above the upper window frame. After that, different heading styles may slightly difference height. Add a simple valance will be much lovely with adequate budget. We have many curtains on our website and we provide fabric samples. Comments (3)I think day/night roller blinds in the same colour as your sheers would look beautiful, this will give you privacy and give a lovely contrast to the curtains, relaxed Roman blinds are lovely also, by keeping them the same colour as your other curtains it will flow beautifully....See MoreTiling Question
Comments (28)Hi, This is more of a personal preference thing. I see a lot of good suggestions in the comments, at the end of the day, there is no issue with leaving it as is, adding a strip or tiling the whole wall. Your home should mean you are comfortable and in control of the design choice for this. Your tiler is not incorrect in saying this is usually what people go for but they are incorrect if they refuse to do it any other way which you ask. In terms of the solutions below, the narrow strip option will complete the look but will leave a cut edge either facing down or up. This is not an issue under a cupboard as the cut edge gets put against the joinery. In this situation, the cut edge will either be expose on the top ( not a great issue if you don't mind the look and the tiles are cut straight and consistently). Or if facing down the top finish will be nicer but you may have a slight raised lip at the join between tiles (not usually too noticeable unless looking for it). OR if cut edge is facing the top you can also put a trim. A lot of options available, any tiler should be aware of for you to choose. Good Luck!...See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
