What is the best painting to put on a bedroom wall instead of bedhead?
Comments (24)Hey Jen… Love your living space…really fab! An oversized piece of art as a bed head is stunning (and there are NO rules!) … but if you're worried about leaning against it in bed…you could indulge in some fabric love and just suspend a panel from a rail above with some cool finials. Means you can decide exactly how much you line up with your architecture, and you get some hardware in amongst the fabric injection. I bet I'm too late anyhow! xx...See MoreWall recess in hallway — what to put?
Comments (29)I picked up the dark coloured carpet runner. This seems to make the hallway look very narrow. I suggest to perhaps try and remove it and see if it looks wider without it. My suggestion is yes it will. For the side wide cavity in the wall surface, you have a choice as others mentioned. However, do stay away from dark coloured paintings if necessary as it does make the hallway look narrower. My choice would be, remove the dark carpet from the hallway and use a large mirror in the wall area. It is than your choice what to put on the surface area of the cavity to compliment the mirror....See MoreKitchen wall demo- do we put in high bench?
Comments (13)Thankyou so much for all the feedback and ideas. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at it. Annb1997 here’s a photo looking around to the other side of the wall. We have a big sliding door which will provide a good view out to the pool. There is currently a tall bookcase on the other side of the wall but I will move that elsewhere (not in the dining room). I may buy a low cabinet to go on the other side of the wall for storage down the track. My main reason for wanting to see the pool is to be able to see my kids in the pool whilst I’m in the kitchen (washing up, cooking etc). Plus I like the idea of being able to see through to the dining room instead of it being a more ‘closed off’ room. To the right of the dining room is a lounge room. The dining room is about 3mx3m. Down the track we’d like to do further renovations (ie. new kitchen, new flooring which would need to be done at the same time) but that may be years away till we have the money. So I was trying to be practical I suppose, and achieve what I want for a smaller price. However, I don’t want it to look stupid . Juliahocking - interesting idea about the 30cm slots.... you’ve got me thinking... I think that might look good, but I think I want a better view outside. Oklouise - I hadn’t thought of a window. Do you think that would be a more modern way of achieving what I want?...See MoreWhat to put on my walls in living room?
Comments (9)Hi Kylie! Megan from Bluethumb Online Art Gallery here. I agree with what has been said above by Kylie Fogarty and others that a large signature piece would look great. It would create such an impact on the room! We have a large selection of original artworks if you're after something a little special. I've found some large coastal artworks that I think will complement the look and colour palette you're using. See them at the curation below: https://bluethumb.com.au/curations/houzz-kylie?s=KylieN My personal favourite for a coastal look, is this artwork by Naomi Veitch: https://bluethumb.com.au/naomi-veitch/Artwork/a-slice-of-pearl-beach I've mocked it up for you, so you can see how it would look. I think the textural quality of this work with the neutral colour palette will really finish off your room. Let me know if we can help you with finding the perfect piece....See MoreK Laurence
