I think the overhead cabinets in the corner next to the pantry should go. They partly obscure the window, which looks odd. And they are a different height to the fridge and pantry. Then build the fridge into a cabinet that integrates with the pantry, with either open shelves or a cupboard above the fridge. I think the fridge is best in its current position so that people can access it for drinks and snacks without disturbing the cook.

If you get a small pullout pantry & double door fridge make sure the new pantry is the same height as your wall cupboards, then add a 2 door cupboard above the fridge to the same height also. This will give you a straight line across the wall with the fridge/cupboard, pantry & wall cupboards. Can you use one of the lower pantry doors as a cover panel to finish the side of your peninsular bench?

I agree with big reader. Swap the pantry and fridge. Place a large vase on the top of fridge to visually bring it to the height of wall cabinets. The other part of your kitchen looks great.

Maybe you could use the pantry in the kitchen. And make your pantry in hallway into an office nook, for all the calendars, etc. on the fridge.

As already mentioned by others you need to try and do the following, you will need a panel on both ends of the pantry/fridge space to build them in with a soffit across the top, your cornice would also be brought out around this, (not shown in my drawing, wouldn't do it for me). Not having sizes I'am not sure if this would fit.

The wall cabinet could possibly be used above the fridge, once again size. I'am suggesting 25mm panels that could be what ever colour or material that would work with your white kitchen, ie;they could be painted black along with the soffit.

the wall cabinet doesn't work in that corner. You also need to add a bench top height panel on the end of the Island, it could be same as bench top material.

Siriuskey I love the image thanks so much, the corner cupboard is definitely going it’s an eyesore. If we build the fridge space and pantry space right to the ceiling do you think it will look bulky? I had wanted to do that initially but was worried but removing the corner wall cupboard should hopefully counter balance this?
