Hi agree no back rest but although the aluminium stool looks lovely it doesn't sit quite right with the other finishes....keep looking I think. Nice room.

I think buying stools is the hardest thing, choosing the right one can either break or make a look, Timber or black would work well with your furniture.

It appears that you have a busy island space. Why don't you just utilise your dining suite, instead of purchasing stools. It is still within talking distance. For a young toddler helping you cook, a low stool to stand on next to you, is better than balancing over the sink on a high kitchen stool from the other side. But if you really want sitting bench stools, I would chose something like the third picture that Julie has posted. The wooden seat and black frame.

Love those stools Julie, stools similar to the following from Target in the US, it's not scaled to fit the photo but will give you an idea,

Thanks siriuskey. I was worried that I would get something too off the rest of the style. I have an interior designer helping me but I have blown my budget already so used her advice for all the other furnishing and artwork. This website is amazing! For someone like me, who has no clue, is a life saver!!!

Ig do you mean the aluminium one? They are from relaxhouse and they are on sale, down from $188 to $45 each. A bargain. Only 4 left!
