HELP! Interior Color for a Craftsman House with Wood trims?

I have a huge dilemma. We just bought a Craftsman House and we are unsure what color paint we are going to use for the area mentioned below:

1. In the main area of the house, we have an entrance, living room, kitchen, dining room and hallway all in the same area (there is a stairway in the center of the home).

2. We also have a little den that has a lot of windows with a water view.

3. Finally, a half bathroom with a washer and dryer. PS: We want to paint the shelves below the washer and dryer.

We really needs some help to find paint colors for those area, so here are a few pictures of the interior! We hate dark color unless it's for a accent wall. Otherwise we love whites, beige, but NO yellow, brown or green.

Please keep in mind that we are NOT going to paint our trims, at first that's what I was going to do until I visit the home, the trims are very rich and makes the home feels more welcoming.

This could be a whole color consultation appointment, but some quick suggestions.... First, keep in mind that original Craftsman homes were often quite dark compared to our contemporary aesthetic. Sticking with off-whites works well, and if you want to distinguish different rooms (like you have in your bath/laundry room above), there can still be good flow from room to room. The grey accent wall in the dining area doesn't seem relate to anything else right now, and it doesn't fit with a cohesive plan using off-whites, so I recommend you either use that color elsewhere as well or paint over it. Also, the stringer and stair risers don't appear to relate to other stark white trim anywhere, so I would consider painting over that, as well to avoid your home from becoming too busy visually.

I would do a warm white for everything. All the brown trim should be white. After that you can start introducing some color. I’d steer to the blue families. For this room I’d do blue on the bottom half over the beadboard.

If you were still looking for some warmth and a little variation look at Dulux Natural White or Casper White Quarter. Both work well with Vivid White, so will still work with your trims and kitchen cabinets, however will provide a slight difference between your walls and trim work. In saying that there's no problem in using Dulux Vivid White for both walls and trims.

It was one of the colours the Dulux rep recommended. If you can, get sample pots and try them out. Best way to check your colours as photos don't always give a true reflection of the colour. Then you can have a look against your tiles and in different light.

Why don't you engage a Dulux Colour consultant to pay you a visit? It is impossible to make sound recommendations from digital photos as there is so much variation with cameras, screens, natural day light and atificial light. Kids room also should be a pretty blue or even deep blue gray with lots a wall molding. The foyer should forsure stay white but wall molding there will also add a lot
