Your bathroom has a lot of great design features, but wonder why the shower head wasn't installed on the same wall as the vanity so that the door would not open back onto the shower head. The window doesn't give any privacy as it is, perhaps some frosted glass coating on the lower section would be enough, except at night your shadow would still be seen from outside once the lights are turned on. Perhaps a modern simple external blind would help

Thank you for that comment - great point about the shower head and not something I thought of at the time. The door does have enough room to open inwards (just) and the shower head is placed to be just out of the way (when facing the correct direction) but I think I should have had you on the project earlier to catch that issue!

I was thinking an external blind as an option as well and gets around the night time/lights. Thanks for taking the time respond!

The external blind would need to operate from within the bathroom, cheers

The batten screen is a very cool idea and not one I considered before. I was going to put in a green area (the architect had the outside zone marked as a green zone in his plans, which is why the existing concrete was ripped up) and that could be a great solution to consider as well.

Or create a private courtyard. Pity this wasn’t thought about during design. An, albeit expensive, option would have been the glass which can turn opaque at flick of switch

we've had bathrooms in two different houses with old fashioned venetian blinds inside the shower (one tall window and one waist height window with one directly affected by spray and both by dampness) it was meant to be a temporary fix and expected that we would eventually have to replace the cheap aluminium blinds that we installed pending a "better" option but they have functioned very well and it's lovely to be able to stand in the shower and admire the view without being on view from outside...the blind installer wasn't keen to install them inside the shower but the latest version was installed about six years ago and no sign of needing to be replaced so why not trial a basic venetian while you consider other options ...

Some great ideas suggested, a metal screen would look wonderful and give a beautiful ambiance inside and out, full or half, outdoor blinds that could be raised or lowered, a gorgeous courtyard would give the ultimate shower experience , think tropical spa… fabulous

@Kate @oklouise and @Julie Herbert thank you each of you for your suggestions. I was thinking about a venetian inside the shower myself as a temporary fix until the budget allows for something else. I figured if I even get a few years' worth of use out of it that'll be enough to get me to a more permanent solution - the idea of the personal courtyard is also very tempting and I didn't think about screens but another great suggestion.

Spotlight have a sale on aluminium micro Venetians , I love these, as you can adjust the light and they look very modern

They would look great from the inside and out, pull them up when not in use if you prefer, but they will look great on that window.

A neighbour has fitted external Venetian’s on very large windows across front and side of house. Been there 2 years now and still look great. Controlled from inside, they are on second storey.

While you are making a decision you can hang shower curtain on the window inside for privacy , it’s cheap and easy to get rid of when you have made your choice.

I mean no need for drilling and destroying the wall and tiles just use tension rod in between walls and hang the curtain

What about a cheap option to start. Put stick on frosted glass look contact on the bottom half and leave the top. So cheap you could could try it and see if you like it. Or just invest in all frosted glass.

, perhaps 3/4 covered with the last 1/4 clear, but you would still see shadow shape from outside. I think a simple full height shower curtain could be a a great idea
