To add - we would be changing to a sliding door. Our current preferred layout is the 3rd one with diamond shower and bath on back wall. However unsure jf we cramming too much into a small space and should just accept the fact that a shower over bath is the best option space wise

You can get a big mirror cabinet and shelving. Plus 2 double tail rails behind bath for all the family towels.

Another idea for a small bathroom is to build a resort style bath with shower over, looks beautiful and non slip.. Not suggesting that style of vanity for your family bathroom but a wall hung with mirrored cabinet above for more storage, and a long towel rail. Plus adding a long shower niche across the room will be great for shampoos etc.

Great suggestions from oklouise and siriuskey. Your options just don’t work. Your room is not big enough for a walk in shower, nor a freestanding bath. Creates too much wasted space, and water spray over adjacent toilet or vanity. As oklouise has shown, an inset bath connected to the enclosed shower wall is the best option, if separate spaces are required. There are no small little gaps which just accumulate dust and dirt, which are hard to clean. Here are a couple of inspiration photos which the same concept could be achieved in your bathroom with appropriate size bath and shower. I would keep the hinged entrance door, in my opinion a sliding/cavity door is not appropriate for a bathroom.

The tiled bath has no curved edges and is not a slippery surface which is safe for all ages.

I love oklouise's suggestion. We have a very similar problem but our bathroom is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter. If we could use that layout, I think it would be my preference! Instead we are likely to opt for shower over bath

Smemmy, you can get a bath as short at 1100 for kids. And shower can be 800 wide

we have had a shower over bath that was built as a tiled shower with tall hob along one side (as also suggested by siriuskey) and the floor area of the shower/bath was only 1200 x 600 with the step over hign enough to sit on, just like a bath it was surprisingly spacious to shower or sit down but the challenge is always allowing for enough standing space outside the shower or bath and in front of the toilet and the whole bathroom was only 1200 x 2500 but with a side door access, a custom vanity and small toilet the space worked very well

I currently have a shower over an an inset acrylic bath. I love baths so the bath is 40cm deep and square base. We’ve been using it for 14+ years, two kids from infant to teen, and it’s not problem or drama. The bathroom is small and it was the best option. I have a solid timber sliding door which was original to the house and rehung as a sliding door. Bonus is the bath as a base is easy to clean.

We had a "Shower bath", similar to this from my 1997 CAD program, it was square and had a shower curtain. I think that there is a similar option available today but not as stylish as the tiled shower bath

Hello Ashlee, I do not think you have enough room really for separate bath but if you use a cav slider door (great idea) and a bath across the far wall, a shower next to that: wet room style there is room for a toilet along the right hand wall, with a vanity basin on the other wall. You would need to use mirrored shaving cabinets in the wall for any storage as there is not enough space for a vanity as such. The other suggestion is the tiles bath: which is then square at the bottom not nicely body curved: that makes it safer to stand in with the shower over top and loo next to that would allow enough space for small 800mm wide vanity.
