Help for layout of new main bathroom with a small space!

I have a 2m x 2.8m space for our main bathroom. I want to include a separate bath and shower if possible. Is that crazy in this space?
Also, we like the look of freestanding baths but not sure it will work in the space we have. Any thoughts?
I have attached a couple of layout options but would love some out of the box suggestions!

Not unthinkable at all. There is a splash back product called metaline by laminex that is a splash back surface, with benefits that glass doesn't have. Firstly, the cost factor is reduced as it can be installed as per simple instruction with adhesive and silicon sealant and can be post cut meaning if you later decide you want to install power points or cut outs for taps, lights etc, you can cut through it on site after it's installed, with rouge Ed glass for example that cannot happen.
Secondly, it is a large scale product without pattern, so joins are minimized although some metallic colours are in the palette so they can be reflective and moody if that's what your interested in. Metallics are right on trend, so one of their neutral tones would line the entire bath feature wall and look sophisticated and not fussy at all. It could also provide the colour inspiration for the room, if everything else is kept neutral.

Our old bathroom was a similar size....what I could have done with an extra 20cm!! Your layout looks great....our opening was on the shorter wall and to save space we installed a cavity sliding door.

the problem with rearranging the fixtures is that none of the alternatives leaves enough walking space except the last, which is the same as what you have already first try an automatic door closer and consider a custom vanity with a small drop in sink in a counter that has a narrow section that continues across the top of the toilet and a wall mirror or mirrored medicine cabinet the maximum width of available wall under the windows...widening the counter will be useful and the mirrors and gorgeous new tiles, bath and vanity will help to distract from the view of the toilet

I have decided that it is a bit extravagant for me to have two bathrooms in my little house based on the small amount of times the second bathroom will be used. I am still wanting to have a laundry cupboard that has the washing machine and dryer in it (and maybe some storage or bench space for sorting????), but where the top bathroom was, I am just going to have a walk in robe off the bedroom to the right. It will have a cavity sliding door into the walk in robe. The walls go to 2700mm. To enable the shower to have a width of 900mm in the lower bathroom, the doorway is now going to be moved so that the entry to the bathroom is via a door to the far right. The toilet will now be in between the shower and vanity, so that the toilet isnt the first thing you see when you walk into the bathroom. Can anyone see any issues with the changed design, and can you suggest how to design the walk in robe and the laundry cupboard to maximise storage and function. Should I now make the the bathroom deeper and the walk in robe narrower? Should I make the laundry cupboard wider? PS. If I ever buy another house, it will be one that has already been renovated.....I am not made for design decisions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes thank you for your thoughts. the room is 2.8 (with window) vs 3.4m. I do find it a bit annoying too as I don't like that you open the door and see straight away into the shower (though I'm certain the door would have a lock). I'm sure they lined the bath up to be with the window as visually that looks better, but then I find the space at the end annoying. I like the alternative drawings (I like three of them lots!) and I had been considering an drop in bath built wall to wall rather than a freestanding but also finding it frustrating to find a really nice supportive bath and there are less drop in baths than freestanding around at the moment which is a bit annoying. Thanks Anna for the picture, that helps as that looks good (though we would have more space at either end, 50cm) and I prefer the look of yours with some space but not as cavenous... I think I might have to have a talk with my husband as we really need to work out what to do!!

As per your other post. You don’t have the budget to change the layout. Tile paint and new taps etc will refresh the space.

I'd put both the bath and shower along the back wall.
You'd be able to fit in a bigger vanity along the left wall, or front wall if you wish.
Toilet is in a great spot hidden behind the door.

A standard shower is 900*900 (your plan is 800*800) - so I would put shower in opposite corner of back wall, then run the bath along the back wall as well. Leave the toilet where it is as it is well hidden and has enough space. Then you would have the choice of running the vanity either beside the door, or along the left wall
