Amazing blurb says it’s a mineral - “LITESTONE™ 6 mm stone is one of natures hardest minerals”. Dig deeper and it is quartz stone pieces with 7%resin. But the premise of a light weight bench seems good. Will be interesting to see how it holds up to its claims

I’d love to know how it holds up. From memory it has plastic innards. I think the name has been around a while but the current company format looks to be only 5 years old. If you’re planning on buying it I’d be looking for some references from someone who’s had it a while.

Maybe a kitchen Bathroom supplier has used it, they mention that it compares to the cost of laminate

Is your benchtop 40 deep, it does sound the same, I made an enquiry to replace my island 2700 x 1200, supply would be approx 04/25, $1000 plus delivery.

Siriuskey. Yes... 40mm thick. I reckon if it's installed on cupboards with a solid top it would be workable.. it's been used all through the house here and from what I can see the biggest issue has been mounting it.. they have chiseled out the honeycomb structure and glued timber to the stone to try provide a fixing point

It's not sounding very positive, My benches were done with a layer of white laminate set back from the edge of the white base cabinets and a plywood top was set on top projecting out to the same as the base cabinets to form a shadow line, this formed a depth of approx 36 for the benchtop. This is a Victorian company so it would be great if bigreader or other could check them out.

I’ll see if there are any local suppliers around. The company itself is located about 3.5 hours from me which is a bit far for a quick browse. But that does raise a concern. Given the idea seems to have been around for over 10 years if it were a problem free product I would have thought cabinet makers would have it in their offerings.

So I did some more googling. In 2019 Bunnings sold it. They no longer do. And around that time there are some bad reviews on Oz Bargain. I’m not surprised there were bad reviews to be found because when you search Litestone the first page of searches are filled with their own web pages. This can be an indication that they’ve sanitised the search algorithm by flooding it with their own results to hide the bad reviews. Are they able to send you a sample?
