Hi everyone,
We’re three years into our build/renovation and, honestly, it’s been one of the most stressful experiences of our lives. Between plumbing issues, concreting mistakes, trades not following plans, and poor communication, we’ve had so many moments where we thought, “Should we have just walked away?”
At this point, I’m not even sure if we’re close to the finish line — but we’re trying so hard to get there. We’re in desperate need of reaching certification so we can close off our back loan and finally breathe again.
We’ve had to take many things into our own hands just to keep moving forward. One of the last major pieces is our gatehouse and fence. The blockwork is already in place, and the dimensions are fixed (council rejected our driveway move), so we need to work with what’s there.
We’d love help designing a gatehouse and fence/ path to house that reflects the character of our home — ideally something in keeping with our Hamptons/Queenslander style, with fretwork or detailing to soften the structure and tie it in beautifully.
If anyone can share ideas, inspiration images, sketches, or can render suggestions with measurements we’d be so grateful.
