Massimo Interiors was engaged to style the interiors of this contemporary Brighton project, for a professional and polished end-result. When styling, my job is to interpret a client’s brief, and come up with ideas and creative concepts for the shoot. The aim was to keep it inviting and warm. Blessed with a keen eye for aesthetics and details, I was able to successfully capture the best features, angles, and overall atmosphere of this newly built property. With a knack for bringing a shot to life, I enjoy arranging objects, furniture and products to tell a story, what props to add and what to take away. I make sure that the composition is as complete as possible; that includes art, accessories, textiles and that finishing layer. Here, the introduction of soft finishes, textures, gold accents and rich merlot tones, are a welcome juxtaposition to the hard surfaces. Sometimes it can be very different how things read on camera versus how they read in real life. I think a lot of finished projects can often feel bare if you don’t have things like books, textiles, objects, and my absolute favourite, fresh flowers. I am very adept at working closely with photographers to get the right shot, yet I control most of the styling, and let the photographer focus on getting the shot. Despite the intricate logistics behind the scenes, not only on shoot days but also those prep days and return days too, the final photos are a testament to creativity and hard work.

We added antique style furniture in velvets and linens, antique side tables, bespoke cushions and curtains as well as a large jute rug to the panelled sitting room at our Kent Family Home project. Interior Design by Imperfect Interiors

BASEMENT CONVERSION TO A LARGE VICTORIAN HOUSE IN SW18 Our clients required a full-footprint basement conversion under their large Victorian house in Wandsworth to provide additional accommodation and facilities for their growing family. Their basement comprises a large media room, playroom, utility with a secondary kitchen, guest bedroom and separate shower room. Full-height frameless glass wall panels allow light to pass right through the basement, and a stunning basement hallway gives the whole floor plan a strong sense of architectural purpose. The basement design was executed by OLBC’s design team, from planning consent for the basement excavation, floor plans to finishing touches including beautiful wallpapers and a mother of pearl tile detail in the hallway. The end result is a spectacular cutting-edge basement, flooded with light: inviting, bright and spacious.

This inviting living room is a showcase of contemporary charm, featuring a thoughtfully curated collection of furniture that exudes timeless style. Anchored by a captivating patterned rug, the furniture pieces come together in harmony, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. A striking entertainment unit seamlessly adjoins a fireplace, sharing its exquisite stone surround, which gracefully extends beneath the television. This design integration not only adds a touch of elegance but also serves as a central focal point, enhancing the room's aesthetic appeal.

The dark wood flooring and wish from the clients for a 'red based colour scheme' set the tone for this cosy townhouse living room. We went for tan coloured netural walls with a warm red undertone to pick out the reds in the sofa. The red sofa is in a herringbone chenille fabric, and the blue one is a teal-blue wool, so both feel very thick and warm and cosy! We mixed teal blues with reds to balance out the warmth of the reds. This room has a classic, sophisticated feel without being overly stuffy - we still want it to be family friendly with a big worn coffee table for drinks or board games. The front room of this 1930s house in Brockley was designed as a cosy retreat from the mess & stress of a whole-house renovation and a young family. Contrasting textures & tones create a playful yet grown up feel. Warm, flat matte walls contrast with the cool, glossy textured grey ceiling. A stunning carved teak Yngve Ekström cabinet hides away the TV, while a deep shaggy rug brings the colour palette together.
