An extension to the rear of the existing house allowed greater integration with the rear yard and access to morning sun.

The existing red brick dwelling was rendered and a timber pergola added to provide warmth and structural interest to the street view of the house. A low key awning over the entry provides weather protection.

The new family room with hardwood tiumber flooring opens to the timber deck creating a seamless transition to the rear yard. Corner windows provide expansive views of the garden and a built in entertainment unit and fireplace ensure that the space feels spacious and purpose built.

The existing kitchen was re-built with new joinery and the galley style layout provides a functional space that is strongly connected to the outdoors via the sliding servery window to the rear deck.

The existing bathroom was renovated and expanded to provide a full size tub and walk in shower with feature shower bench that wraps past the shower to the bath. This provides a visual link element as well as a functional bench for the owners to use as shower seating as they age in place.
