The brief for a compact rural retreat, sympathetic to the surrounding environment was met with a self-sufficient solar passive design.
The 180sqm2 residence was designed to give a feeling of space and serenity, achieved through high raked ceilings of natural timbers and glass encapsulating views, whilst keeping a modest footprint.
High insulation materials are included to reduce heat loss and maintain winter warmth, over the three cooler seasons of the year.
Low embodied energy materials were incorporated. Stone was extracted from the property and sourced recycled iron bark for exterior cladding complements the natural bush stone.
The home allows for comfortable relaxation and reflection for its occupants.
