They are doors here, but the idea of a stripe of color is intriguing. Also, there is an honest to god sculpture in this yard. They must be rock stars.

I like the different size siding. This is an example, though, of the border around the window box that I don't care for.

Although I don't like when the window boxes are bordered (not this photo but I have seen it in others), I do like the borders. Here the border between the horizontal and vertical draws attention to the difference.

There's not really that many things going on here but it LOOKS like there are and I love how busy yet pulled together it all is. Also I like the gray blue siding.

Fences like this catch my eye - I took pictures of the same thing one of my neighbors did. They were waist high and had spacing so the santa ana winds don't blow them over.

Nice landscape. Has the pavers and plants i enjoy, and big heavy planters that are rad. I also like this door. It's solid color but it's wood. It's very interesting!

Are these decorative beams? I like the look of them with the brick and the front door. Something like this I would like instead of the single post I have now. I kind of like the post, though.

Can we cover the extension of the city wall that lends privacy to our side yard with brick facade? This looks so nice and inviting in comparison to our painted cinder block. This could also be a good space to insert the "raw wood" look. Perhaps a bottom and top thing going on. Brick on bottom and wood on top.

Another bitchin' landscape. The screens also remind me of what J. was saying about tall plants close to the house and graduating down to the sidewalk, except these aren't plants - I may like these better than live plants next to the house, though.

Horizontals and verticals living in harmony. This also reminds me that all my verticals are the same space apart everywhere, and the spacing can be played with a bit.

The two tone siding paint job is rad and makes it really stand out. Also, I need to figure out how to incorporate big stone balls in my design - if not then giant planters or something equally HEAVY.

The red brick border and parts of pathway bricked over. I imagine my front porch being brick instead of concrete and this seems like it would tie in the walkway so nicely.

The extra border around the window is cool - I have white windows, so this is an opportunity to add the dark accents I like.

The dark color painted under the roof overhang is so appealing. Wonder if the fascia board has to match?

Is this metal? I would love incorporating metal into the already multi-texture facade of my home. I think I even like this better than a stained or raw wood look.
