Read on to discover five of the biggest looks for 2023 and how the right stone can help you bring them to life.
1. The characterful kitchen
Today’s kitchen is no longer just for cooking – it’s the beating heart of the home where we gather, dine, entertain and create memories with the ones we love. As such, it’s out with the cold and clinical and in with warm, characterful colours and finishes that foster a sense of togetherness.
The look is rich and layered, with statement stone playing a starring role. Here, Dekton Ceppo Kode, with its bold, blue-grey pebbled patterning that mimics Italian Ceppo di Gré stone, is used on the island, rear benchtops and splashback, balanced with light beige Dekton Vicenza Kode Avorio on the floor. Deep, walnut joinery adds to the sense of all-enveloping luxury, and tones in with the dark, exposed beams overhead.

Or, create a one-of-a-kind look by mixing different stone colours. In this kitchen, the designer has cleverly defined the island into different zones by using rich Dekton Vicenza Kode Grafite on the prep surface and lighter-toned Dekton Travertine Kode Sabbia in a sleek profile that resembles a dining table for the meals section. The result? A visually striking and supremely practical centrepiece.
The darker stone is then carried through to the rear benchtops and the paler one on the splashback to create cohesion throughout the kitchen.

2. Bathroom retreat
If the COVID-19 pandemic taught us anything, it was the importance of carving out a little ‘me-time’ at home; somewhere to retreat, relax and recharge for the day ahead. And where better to do this than reclining in the tub or beneath the spray of steaming-hot shower?
Today’s bathroom has evolved from practical space to more of a spa-like retreat, with beautiful, natural finishes and earth-drawn colours that soothe the senses and calm the mind.
Create a cocooning, comforting feel by running a stunning stone, such as Dekton Travertine Kode Marmorio from floor to ceiling. Echo its soft, striped patterning with richly grained timber joinery, then add in a pair of curvaceous mirrors for a little contrast.

Or, add a contemporary edge to your bathroom retreat with a combination such as soft taupe Dekton Vicenza Kode Grigio stone on your walls and floor and finely ribbed timber joinery, punctuated with a minimalist, matt black-framed shower screen and tapware.
3. One-of-a-kind furniture
With sustainability now a priority for many, 2023 is seeing homeowners take a more considered approach to selecting new furniture. Gone are the days of jumping on short-lived trends and in its place is a desire for unique, beautifully crafted pieces that will enhance our homes and last for years, while being gentle on the earth.
Rather than automatically buying off-the-shelf, homeowners are increasingly commissioning one-of-a-kind pieces that perfectly complement their home, such as a coffee or dining table in a stone that matches or harmonises with their stone flooring or wall cladding, resulting in a truly cohesive interior.
To create the crisp, minimalist lines and seamless finish required for this custom coffee table, the designer chose Dekton Vicenza Kode Nebbia – not only beautiful, Dekton comes in a range of thicknesses from ultra-slim 4 millimetres to 20 millimetres, allowing for endless creative applications.
To create an eye-catching contrast against the light-toned table, the designer specified a floor in bold Dekton Ceppo Kode.

Here, a bespoke desk with a slender, curved top in Dekton Vicenza Kode Grafite and chunky timber legs elevates the work-from-home space to something truly special.
Individually crafted, often by hand, furniture pieces such as these tell a story while bringing individuality to a home, and can be passed down from one generation to the next.
