A really good article. It seems to be one of the things that trips up most people - it feels wrong to be choosing something like lighting & tiles so early in a project but really does matter. It's also good to have at least some idea of furniture layout for thinking where you will need to place light switches, electrical sockets etc.

These are all good ideas to know if someone is planning on remodeling their house. I didn't know that putting in new flooring and the thickness of it could be a problem. I like the solution of picking it first so the contractors can better prepare it. I would imagine that being on the same page as the contractor would help prevent a lot of problems. http://www.boldcityconstruction.com/services.html
