A spacious tub, shiplap walls and patterned tilework create a spa-like getaway at home for a California couple

The two vanities are made from high-pressure laminate in a finish that resembles reclaimed wood. Wintersteen created a heavy concrete look in the countertops by using gray quartz that wraps down the front to give the appearance of a thick slab.

Wintersteen took space from a previously unused makeup vanity to gain the extra inches for a large walk-in shower. She covered the walls in a Spanish-inspired tile to nail that vacation resort look. “It’s really glossy and edgy and has all the colors we were doing in the master bedroom,” she says.
After. Moving the shower to the other side of the room created a breezier feel, punctuated by a sleek, rectangular stand-alone tub and floating shelves.
