Traditional Kitchen, Dorset

Sherborne Classic Kitchen Project Our client had just had a new extension built on the back of her house which meant she could choose a new kitchen to her own specification. With this project we were able to input some creative ideas that ranged from the suggestion of a central island unit complete with an integrated wine rack to a stand alone bespoke dresser that captured the feel of this Classic Kitchen. With beaded drawers and panelled doors we evoked the style of a Shaker kitchen. We kept the colour pallet neutral painting the main kitchen with Farrow and Ball Pointing and a soft Manor House grey for the island unit. To give the kitchen warmth we used solid oak timber worktops treated with liming wax and sealed with Osmo oil to protect from general usage. Fired Earth tiles were chosen by the client to give a gentle nod to tradition. Our client's dream had always been to have a bespoke dresser that reminded her of her childhood growing up by the sea. Rhiannon designed an eclectic dresser with a run of small drawers placed above larger drawers and four open compartments at the base. Perfect for hiding away all those little knick knacks that we all accumulate over the years! The panel at the back was V-grooved to incorporate the Shaker styling and it was painted with Valspar In the Deep Blue Sea as a nod to her coastal upbringing. To bring the dresser to life at night we fitted built in lights to illuminate the open shelving.
