In this new Cumberland, Maine, home, we created a traditional-to-transitional kitchen, then softened it with flowing curves and warmed it with soft, intimate lighting. Custom features include a built-in wine rack, glass cabinet doors, and thick traditional craftsman trim, all complemented by the natural light streaming in through the room's many windows. The natural sweep of the island countertop and its dark brown base create a crisp contrast against the modern lighting fixtures and appliances.
