Good design needs to suit the whole family, but that can be a challenge when you’re catering for 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a gold fish and a great dane the size of a pony. Hamish the dog likes nothing better than sleeping on the bed with Mum and Dad and hogging the sofa. Each Sunday the whole family love to spend time together in their tiny lounge room. But with space at a premium, can Shaynna come up with a pet friendly renovation before they all get busy with their other love – theatrical production?

The master bedroom is large enough to be called a parents retreat. It has a large built-in robe, with an internal television point for those who prefer their television sight unseen in. It fits a large queen bed, with room enough for a three-seater sofa for curling up with a book on the weekend. It can also fit a dresser/desk if required. ‘One of the things I will most miss about living here is falling asleep to the sound of waves’, says Beata.

This room was slightly tricky in the fact the clients bed that was brought here from their last property was quite big and there was only one space in the room to put it - in-between the two doors. With still needing somewhere to put a glass of water and a book we found two slimline tables from Houzz and added two wall lights to save the table top space. To dress the bed we used 100% linen bedlinen in a variety of shades to stop the room from looking too contrived.

Wil jij je interieur opleuken zonder veel geld kwijt te zijn? Kijk dan eens wat je allemaal met pallets kan!! Ze zijn tegenwoordig helemaal HOT en er zijn zoveel verschillende manieren om je interieur/exterieur in een hand omdraai op te leuken. Wat ook een groot voordeel is dat ze tegenwoordig regelmatig gratis worden aangeboden. Een pallet is de ideale basis om je verdere creativiteit op los te laten. Verf of bouw de pallet helemaal om zoals je het wilt hebben en maak het helemaal eigen zoals niemand het ooit heeft gezien. Neem lekker de tijd om de pallets op te fleuren zodat het niet alleen een kunstwerk wordt maar ook een leuke activiteit. When using dark colours in a bedroom it's often most favourable to use the hue as an accent, rather than an overpowering presence on all four walls. A brooding dark shade can help to give purpose to a wall, best suited to the wall against which to host the bed.
