She brought creativity, good judgement and an incredible eye for detail to every aspect of the project. She consistently came up with thoughtful design ideas and sourced beautiful pieces that I would never have discovered on my own. My first ever renovation project was handled by CID, who came highly recommended by a neighbour. They were extremely patient and thorough, starting initial discussions while I was overseas and guiding me through all of the steps from measurements to plans to choosing materials and appliances to project managing the trades. It is easy to judge CID’s design skills for yourself by looking at examples of recent jobs on their website. But their project management skills are also impressive, and were critical to successfully completing the renovation on time and on budget. I understand that getting quotes for work from trades can normally take several weeks if not months, but the team at CID were able to get the entire project (three bathrooms, a kitchen and a laundry) costed in less than two weeks, and then re-costed in under a week when I needed to adjust the scope of the work. Dana in particular managed the schedule of work and directly handled negotiations with my strata management as well as her vendors and trades. She personally ensured that the project stayed to time, including driving to Sydney and back to obtain plumbing fittings that were not in stock in Canberra. A few things out of our control did go wrong along the way, but she was quick to communicate any issues to me and propose options to resolve them without blowing out the budget. And the end result is absolutely beautiful. I would work with her and her team again any time.

We recently had to do a small renovation in our home while we were living overseas, and working with Dana and her team was the best decision we could have made. It has been a great experience working with Dana and Alyssa. Dana and the team are professional and friendly and get things right from the beginning. I came to them with a plan that I didn't really like (especially the facade). At first, I came up to get help with Facade but they gave me alternate layout and design options that others had said were not possible. I just went ahead with their design and now my entire project including architecture and interior design is getting done by them. Another thing I liked is that they never forget your project. Dana and her team developed beautiful ideas for my new home. It was not an easy task: realigning variously country and classical styling into a suave contemporary yet timeless luxury design to befit the age and location of the house. We are delighted her work and recommend Dana and her team most highly.

Concept Interior Design has played a pivotal role in bringing back to life a small Heritage-listed workers cottage in the leafy inner city Canberra suburb of Ainslie. The brief was simple: retain and refurbish the external fabric of house (required by its heritage listing) but make the interior comfortable and memorable for modern 21st century living. While COVID and the heritage area of the ACT government did their best to derail the project, the brief was delivered to the letter. From outside, the cottage looks as it would have looked in the late 1920s. On the inside, a sleek contemporary kitchen, bathroom and laundry support original timber floors and new bedroom built ins. Dana (the principal) and Jenna did a wonderful job of making the detail shine on a job that threw up plenty of curve balls. I would strongly recommend the team at CID. They have delivered two jobs for me over recent years, both of which illustrate clever and sensible use of materials and design.

Dana and Isobel have been a joy to work with on this journey. This project has been a true partnership in realising our vision. They not only delivered the necessary creative insights and expert guidance, but also challenged our preconceptions while understanding and respecting our particular needs. Following a glowing recommendation from a close friend, we approached Dana and her team to look at a major renovation for our apartment in Kingston ACT. We had some vague ideas about what we could do with our 12 year old apartment, and they listened patiently to our ideas. We engaged Dana to do a renovation on our house. We were living in Sydney and wanted the work done prior to us moving to Canberra. With a 16 week lockdown in Sydney due to Covid which overlapped a large portion of the work being completed, most of the choices/decisions we needed to make were virtual. We had full confidence in the work that was undertaken and are so happy with the result. Phase 2 of our work to be completed in a couple of years time will be with Dana as the work is completed to such a high standard with minimal fuss.

Jenna & Dana have listened to our requirements for our knock down rebuild and provided a clear brief with multiple designs for our consideration. After further friendly discussion the brief was agreed and plans were promptly revised and finalised. They are helping us with initial build stages with any queries we have. Building work has now commenced and I would not hesitate to recommend them to both friends and family.

We engaged CID to design a rear extension to our home, as we couldn’t make anything work due to the location of a large tree in the backyard (which we wanted to keep). Armed with Pinterest images and mood boards we went off to our first meeting, where we were greeted with a team bursting with enthusiasm and vision. Communication was so easy and their understanding of our brief in line with our budget was amazing. Jenna came back to us very quickly with some great ideas and plan options and with a few minor tweaks we were on our way. The entire process was so efficient and Jenna was an absolute delight to work with. She took care of everything, from drawing our plans and elevations, providing us with video walk-throughs of the space, lodging everything with Council and achieving final DA approval. We couldn’t have done it without her! We are about to commence the build and can’t wait to see the finished result. I commened working with Concepts in early-mid 1990's when they did the design work for a national law firm's office in Canberra which I was running. They did an incredibly impressive job - the design was so professional but modern. Details such as a pale blue carpet detail in the parquetry floor in reception were fantastic. Since then I have used Concepts for all my home furniture needs. Recently I bought a new apartment at Kingston Foreshore which they have helped to completely transform into the feeling of a NY-style loft. A large bathroom was made to look even double the size. The spanish linen curtains they have suggested are such a feature and are commented upon by everyone who walks into the apartment. It is honestly the best place I have ever lived in because of the superb job they have done to make it feel like home but also look spectactular. I am regularly told that "Dana is the best in Canberra" and I totally agree - I would never go to anyone else.

The interior design has been highly innovative, using dead space in our garage space and oversized laundry to create a larger kitchen and butlers pantry. Their selection of the interior color pallet using sea grey, whites and greens and wood tones blend perfectly with the new town house complex color scheme and draws in the outside garden spaces. Dana’s careful attention to detail throughout including selection of furniture and oversight of tradespeople, has resulted in a relaxed and calming environment but redolent in understated elegance . She listened to our needs and meet out brief to a very high standard. Dana was also able to bring in top quality and reliable tradespeople to undertake the works - something that has been very difficult to achieve since the start of the pandemic .

CID has helped us renovate and style 4 houses over the last 18 years! There’s a reason why they are always who we go to. Amazing eye for colour. An ability to source the best art and furnishings, and cover a wide range of options- price range, style, etc. They are also excellent at managing projects and trades. Great communicators! This is the first time we have worked with Concepts and it has been a fantastic experience. Their plans were so detailed it made the refurbishment very easy to quote accurately and they were always available to answer any questions when building. Where do we start!!!! We engaged Concepts Interior Design for the interior design for our new house. Dana changed our way of thinking and understanding design concepts. Looking through her eyes, we understood what makes the difference between a house and a dream house. Dana initially modified the overall internal architecture of the house from the initial design by the architect. We were amazed to see how she utilised the floor space so well to give us good size WIRs, rumpus room, bar area, a beautiful room for our daughter and what not. Then comes the interior design for the rooms, kitchen, bathroom etc. No word is enough to thank Dana and Jenna for the tireless work they did and the patience they demonstrated to handle our ever changing mindset. Once the internal design was done, we were so happy that we engaged the team to do our furniture layout design and furniture, lights, mirror sourcing. And we were so relieved. Whoever comes to our house, says simply 'WOW'. I should also mention about Jan for her great work with Dana and Jenna in doing furniture design and selection. Finally no praise is good enough to talk about the work. Jenna was extremely professional yet friendly in suggesting the furniture selection, colour choices etc. and always was patient in listening to us whether it was an issue with the budget or with the selection. Concepts has advised me on the renovation of 3 houses- over the last 10 years. They bring a valuable mix of creative, relationship and project management skills. The ability to work hand in glove with a range of trades people is a talent and critical for any renovation. Dana and Jen are great to work with. They listen and tailor their approach- I never felt I was being dictated to...my own preferences- be they about style color, function, furniture etc - always heard and formed a key part of the end outcome. I still love all of the work delivered by Concepts- the house renovation undertaken 10 years ago- is still beautiful. Concepts are not about fads- but about style that is functional and timeless. Concepts have advised me in a range of areas including structural changes (additional rooms, changes to floor plans); color; furniture; artwork etc. They are absolutely phenomenal. And they work within budget and to your budget.

From the first time we met with Dana, her enthusiasm and confidence to re-configure our ensuite & main bathroom into the ideal layout for our household was the main reason we hired Concepts Interior Design. After providing our house plans, a Pinterest board of ideas and a having the Concepts team out to do a check measure, the whole process was extremely straightforward. At our 2nd meeting we were pleasantly surprised when we were presented with a couple of floorplan options that had some unique design ideas, and that all finishes and fixtures had been chosen for our consideration. Some were not necessarily what we might have chosen ourselves, but they suit us and the design perfectly! After a few refinements to suit our preferences, we had a layout, design and all finishes chosen and Dana even put us in touch with a local builder, who we have also hired to do the renovation for us. We have booked to start the works in 2 weeks, can't wait to see how it turns out!

Thank you Dana and the team for my house design. Absolutely delighted with the process and more importantly the great design. I just could not work out what to do with my badly shaped lounge/dining. What you came up, and flowing that into the open kitchen/TV area (which did not occur to me!) looks great and is now so livable. The lounge and rug you had made to fit the space are both better than expected. The project management throughout which made it all so easy. Having previously had the girls from Concepts help us with choosing furniture and fabric, when we decided it was time for an upgrade we contacted them again as we have been very happy with their previous choices for us. We needed an update on our furniture for our lounge as we had renovated our home. We quickly worked out the sofa and chair they had sourced for us (from a choice of several) but the choice of fabric was a challenge! They presented us (on several occasions!) with many choices - all were gorgeous and we continued to work together until we found the right one - not one i was initially drawn to - but their knowledge of colour and product is invaluable so we trusted their judgement. Very happy that we did, the sofa and the chair both look fabulous! Complimentary cushion covers were also chosen and the colours all work together so well, - it has really lifted the room. The quality of the workmanship is top notch too, and delivered earlier than was originally anticipated.

My wife & I worked with Concepts Interior Design over the course of the last year to design our next house in Googong, NSW. An exceptional design, interior and exterior. Everything from furniture placing, colours, appliances, stair case, fixtures and fittings was designed by this team. Dana and her team also helped complete the internal layout of master bedroom, ensuite and roof top terrace to ensure a house Fit to win an award. We have engaged Concepts Interior Design 4 times over the last 15 years! They helped renovate 2 of our homes and 2 investment properties. For our investment properties their styling, colour and trade management made a significant difference to the end result- we ended up selling one of the properties very quickly in an otherwise slow market. The other property was revalued at a significantly higher value. For our two homes Concepts assisted us with the end to end renovation including for structural change, colour (interior and exterior); Gardens, exterior and interior layout, windows, furnishings and styling including art work consultation and purchase. We will continue to use them. They really care, listen and own the end result. If something does not work, they fix it. They have an eye for classic style that lasts the years.

CID were involved in the major renovation of my home. Stage 1 consisted of identifying a theme that was compatible with the external architecture, suggesting a colour pallet, nominating wall treatments and timber finishes, together with window coverings etc. This involvement provided an excellent backdrop to proceed to Stage 2. It consisted of detailed research and supply of many varied items of high quality furniture. A selection of classic fabrics from top international designers became part of the fitout to deliver a varied but cohesive end result. CID facilitated the installation of hand painted murals and other features to create a residence of the highest order. At all times the interaction was professional, interesting and most enjoyable.

We have engaged concepts interiors for domestic and commercial jobs numerous times over a period of more than 25 years.
