Planting uses very drought-tolerant ornamental plants - salt bush as shown here in the background is a fantastic silver foliage plant, needs no water and is great at smothering out weeds. Give it plenty of room and it will reward you for many years to come. Here we have complemented the silver with the myriad white flowers of Seaside Daisy in the foreground and the rugged old-time favourite lily of the Nile (Agapanthus) with its deep blue flowers in summer.
