Jurassic Baths in Marin Headlands

Rustic Bathroom, San Francisco

The Master Bath of this home situated in a remote, high setting backing into the Marin Headlands offers a spectacular sweeping view that is breathtaking. I told them right away it looked so pristine it reminded me of Jurassic Park. Designing for the couple who lives here was sheer joy, since the two of them love the same things, all warm, natural, and organic. We updated an existing closed in, cave like steam shower to one that allows you to see the view and replaced the old jetted tub that sat in the corner of the bath (with a seat facing the bathroom rather than the view) to a new concrete- resin, free standing tub. In order to get the 800 lb tub into the space it had to be air lifted with a crane over the house onto the deck and trough the window openings before the new windows were installed. The clients say it was all worth it! This bath was a complete gut and remodel while the Guest Bath and Powder Bath were updated in part with new custom vanities, counter tops, plumbing, mirrors lighting and sinks, plus a bit of tile and the addition of a barn door. Every bath is now up to date, warm and rich with real and look-alike stones that mix and blend with metals and a bit of sparkle for the owner who is and artist.
