Mid-century modern garden studio/guest house
Midcentury, Melbourne
Mid-Century design by Secret Design Studio, documentation by Detail 9.
Freestanding mult-purpose building built on the side and rear boundary to act as a teenage retreat, guest house and pool changeroom. It was designed to complement the additions to the main house (See Houzz project titled "Sympathetically extended mid-century modern").
Due to council regulations it was designed to match the footprint of an existing brick shed which was the same size as a double garage and had been on the property before it was subdivided in the 1960's. The old shed did not lend itself to renovation however some of the old bricks were re-used in the feature wall to the rear.
