Contemporary Kitchen, Los Angeles

The kitchen appears as if it were a paneled wall, which was achieved by concealing all of the appliances and using wood on all the surfaces: the upper and lower cabinets and even the back splash. The island has a prep sink with foot pedals to operate the water flow to create a minimal design. The countertops are made of honed black absolute granite to achieve a soft appearance as opposed to the standard shiny stone. The opening in the ceiling rises fifteen feet to the skylight structure seen on the exterior to flood the kitchen with indirect light.
