This Auckland backyard was renovated to create a new outdoor living area, elevated to maximise sea views, improve circulation and address the level change required to a new flat lawn space. The plant and hardscape material selection was based on the style of the house and the owners desire to create a relaxed, informal space for entertaining. Predominantly tropical species were chosen for both the desired aesthetic and their ability to withstand the local climate with minimal maintenance.
